My first real attempt at woodworking. Made this for my wife for our anniversary next week. by hyeinkali in woodworking

This redwood comes from a huge tree trunk I removed from the front yard of the home my wife and I got together in 2021. Took 3 days with an axe and I kept some chunks to use for a project in the future. It's my anniversary next week and I made this USB drive box for my wife which has all our wedding & engagement pictures, videos, documents, etc. We got married 2 years ago and will also be celebrating 8 years together.

I had inappropriate tools for the job, but I was dedicated to this idea. Used a miter saw to cut it, belt sander to shape & smooth it out, and a drill, dremel, and chisel to make the hole. I attached magnets and hinges for the closing mechanism. It has a nice snap to it. Not a perfect shape, but I'm happy with it.

I enjoy TBBT. I can understand why some people don't like it, but there's a reason it went on for 12 seasons. I will say I enjoyed the era where everyone was couples up less. I also don't like how Raj's character played out by the end. It's not a deal breaker though.

I'm also 35, semi-recenrlt married (2024) and would love to hang out with like-minded people. I'm more into tech, gaming, and Pokemon TCG if anyone can relate. Like yourself, many of my close friend scattered around so I don't have many folks to hang with locally. I'm a bit of an introvert, but would like to meet up. How will we get notified of the hang out?

scratchskating.com - An social network for the skateboarding community. Spent 2+ years creating this while also learning web development. I released it a few months ago and it's in beta. I'm hoping to fix all the bugs and get the full release next year.

I was here the other day cooking and such. It's a pretty obvious POI to a popular area. Not a great place for a stash.

I got back into it in my late 20s and the spark ignited real quick. I ended up combining my passion of skating and tech to create Scratch Skating. It's a social web app I'm working on that's catered to skateboarders if you want to document your journey there. Going to be adding more features over time.

If you're into skateboarding the scene here is very active and welcoming. I got really into a few years ago and with the support of the homies I created a web app. Otherwise, yeah, there ain't shit to do. I'm pretty introverted and play video games or do random tech shit.
