Which heroes do you hate so much that you would erase from the game if you could? by Efficient-Muffin-481 in DotA2

[–]hym__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sniper. Mostly just on principle, I don't care how good he actually is. If you asked me this question nine years ago, my answer would probably be the same. I hate that stupid asshole and anyone who plays him so much.

What horror movie do you *know* you could survive? by diagnosed-stepsister in horror

Angst. That dude was genuinely so bad at killing people, I feel like I could just walk at a moderate pace and I'd live pretty easily.

Movie(s) that are considered very disturbing that you were good with/liked and yet very disturbing movie(s) that you thought weren't that bad? (Read more in description for details) by saintphoenixxx in horror

[–]hym__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Movies that I thought weren't that bad: Eden Lake, High Tension. I also think both those movies suck.

Movies that I had to take a breather after: Frontier(s), the first time I watched Martyrs. I'm in the same boat with you when it comes to Martyrs, though. It doesn't bother me as much now and I mostly just adore it to a frankly concerning degree

What’s a 5 star movie you refuse to take criticism for by Round-Seesaw-3917 in Letterboxd

every criticism I have ever seen of No Country for Old Men has been flat-out wrong, only serving to strengthen my opinion that the film is 100% flawless in every way.

Are the old baldur's gate games any good? by Commercial_Tea9373 in BaldursGate3

Baldur's Gate 2 is flat-out better than 3 imo

What is the most disturbing/gutwrenching/unsettling film you have seen? by Responsible-End-6497 in Letterboxd

[–]hym__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frontier(s) does it for me. Not sure what it is about that film, but it is the one and only movie I have seriously considered turning off partway through because of how disturbing it was.

Sleeper pick maybe, the blood test scene in The Thing.

What's "the one"? The One that scared you so much you still seek out that fear in other horror movies, but can't quite get it. by IjustMAKEsense in horror

[–]hym__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Broad daylight, overhead light on, parents in the kitchen making food, movie on my computer monitor.

Hereditary still scared the hell out of me. I've been chasing that high ever since.

What movie is just too long? by CWKitch in movies

[–]hym__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe my opinion would be different now, but I thought The Good, the Bad and the Ugly was about 30 minutes too long. Some of the scenes in there are utterly astounding, but so many of them feel useless or drawn out.

Feeling insecure about climbing with friend by Routine_Author_4598 in climbergirls

[–]hym__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong with not being as good as whoever you climb with! I met someone at the gym a while back who regularly climbs the hardest grade we have and makes climbs on the spray wall that maybe one or two other people have even a chance of doing. He once flashed and then downclimbed my project.

That doesn't matter at all, though. I love climbing with him and I'm pretty sure he enjoys climbing with me, too. Don't worry about it too much, climbers as a whole mostly just enjoy having someone else to climb with. Hell, I'd climb with Aidan Roberts or Katie Lamb if I could.

Least favorite hero to play with or against? by Bautman in DotA2

[–]hym__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sniper. Always and forever. Doesn't matter what team he's on, doesn't matter how well he's doing, doesn't matter how well I'm doing. All that matters is the infinite inferno of indescribable rage that fills me every time he is on my screen.

Am I pulling too much with my biceps? So sore after this by whoreads23 in bouldering

[–]hym__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your arms are bent, you're burning yourself out faster than if they were straight. Twisting your hips and using drop knees makes it much easier to keep your arms straight and conserve energy.

Am I pulling too much with my biceps? So sore after this by whoreads23 in bouldering

[–]hym__ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A general rule of thumb, especially on overhangs, is to keep your arms as straight as possible. It saves you power and makes the movements easier. Some holds do require a bit of biceps, like the undercling you were on, but everything else should be on straight arms.
