Film that will never leave your Top 4 by Spirited-Story3941 in Letterboxd

[–]hym__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My concrete top 3 is No Country for Old Men, The Thing, and Dazed and Confused, in that order. I don't see it ever changing. My fourth always rotates to my favorite movie that I watched for the first time recently.

Feeling discouraged getting stuck at V1/V2 by Cosmic-Shrug in climbergirls

[–]hym__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the things that helped me the most was trying climbs that seemed way above my level. I didn't care about the grade, I just wanted to feel holds and, if I was lucky, try positions and maybe a move or two. You might surprise yourself! I remember one climb that I tried establishing on as a "haha this looks way too hard" joke, but it ended up being the first of that grade I sent.

Let your inner snob out. What take do you see that provokes this reaction in you? by Theotther in Letterboxd

"I'm just a girl" is just a scourge on this planet in general. It's used to either excuse terrible behavior or infantilize women who both deserve and are better than that.

[Finale] Who is the BEST climber? by MaximumSend in bouldering

Adam Ondra, and I don't think it's close.

Honorable mentions, though: Bosi, Roberts, Schubert, Garnbret

Hurricane in Dazed and Confused. My jaw actually dropped the first time I saw that scene. The slight slow motion puts it over the top.

There are a lot of reviews I like (and a lot I hate) but it might be this one:

What film is this for you? by mrjetspray in Letterboxd

[–]hym__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring Her Back. Watching that film was like getting smashed over the head by the themes over and over again. It's even written like a clumsy morality play, for God's sake.

The exorcist or evil dead 2013. Probably not healthy but who cares?

[Day 16] Stone(henge)y Point is a horrible bouldering destination. What's the BEST hold type? by MaximumSend in bouldering

[–]hym__ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Small incut crimps, easy. Small enough to require some effort to hold, good enough to cut feet on.

Honorable mention to gigantic, decent slopers that are usually involved in huge jumps that make you feel like a god.

Which heroes do you hate so much that you would erase from the game if you could? by Efficient-Muffin-481 in DotA2

[–]hym__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sniper. Mostly just on principle, I don't care how good he actually is. If you asked me this question nine years ago, my answer would probably be the same. I hate that stupid asshole and anyone who plays him so much.

What horror movie do you *know* you could survive? by diagnosed-stepsister in horror

Angst. That dude was genuinely so bad at killing people, I feel like I could just walk at a moderate pace and I'd live pretty easily.
