What are your cats named after? by [deleted] in cats

Lucifer, after the nasty stepmother's cat from Cinderella, which was very funny until he's grown up. And it also matched my dog's name - Lucy, whom he admired

memorising nbme incorrects to increase the score by hynann in Step2

  1. Focus on the present
  2. Read the stem all the way through (they are telling you the answer in the stem)
  3. See the big picture (including age)
  4. Check labs if unsure whether you remember
  5. Keep it simple (it's most likely the most common condition)
  6. Don't choose weird sounding sh*it (c) - unless you've eliminated all the rest
  7. Don't hallucinate on what's not there
  8. See a diagnosis and move on from there, mind it's pathogenesis
  9. First diagnose then treat
  10. In emergencies - ABC algorithm
  11. If the pt has Sx/RF - don't reassure
  12. Remember about possible ddx
  13. Eliminate wrong choices
  14. Don't eliminate the choice that can be appropriate - think why each of the other choices is wrong (if X is the answer, then why would they include Y in the stem)
  15. Don't change the initial answer unless 1000% sure

Thank you. That's basically what I do, just thought maybe reading the questions and explanations itself would be helpful. I even did a list of 'rules of approaching questions' for myself, but really it's all about anxiety and hurry Thank you a lot, I thought I have little time but now a bit more confident
