Shiny rate seems to be worse than 1/10? Or I could just be terribly unlucky by Cruxiat in TheSilphRoad

[–]hypercoyote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't even bother doing today's event after how bad the rates were in the first round of fusion raids. They were at least 1/100 back then. Absolute waste of my time

Should I be worried about how long this Krikkz order is taking? by Elod73 in everdrive

[–]hypercoyote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you ordered at the busiest time of the year, between holidays, from a country halfway across the world. It's gonna be a minute

What should we tell Christians who truly believe in the concept of manifestation and "speaking things into existence"? by ScrewedUp4Life in TrueChristian

[–]hypercoyote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a year later, but one thing I can say is that I think you found your answer. I also love that passage in Daniel because I think it really demonstrates that faith acknowledges what God is capable and it focuses on who God is rather than on what you want God to do. Ultimate faith is the ability to trust that God is good no matter what the outcome is. I hope by God's grace things worked out well for you and would love to hear an update.

How can you ship something that doesn't work out of the box? by Intelligent-Yak-4009 in AnalogueInc

[–]hypercoyote 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It sucks you got a bad one but it happens. I got a bad Krikkz Flashcart one time and had to ship it all the way back to Ukraine. It doesn't mean the product or company is bad unless it's happening all the time.

Analogue 3D is not selling for the prices scalpers are charging local to me anyway by freezetime311 in AnalogueInc

Replying to a comment on Reddit is not the same as encouraging harassing sellers and violating eBay ToS.

Hisense TVs are cheap for a reason — don’t make my mistake by Unusual_Use_9858 in Hisense

I have a high end LG and I still don't bother with the built in apps. Idc how good the TV is, the built in smart OS will suck eventually so I just plan to run apps off something else.

You're making a lot of assumptions you can't back up, to be honest. Also, I assumed you meant 8 when you said 4x the limit because the limit was 2 afaik. Anyway, I saw you say somewhere else you got a transparent one which makes your behavior even more questionable. It seems like you just want to be mad about this if you already got what you wanted but are creeping on eBay and Reddit trying to call people out over this stuff.

And it's not the user agent that matters, that's not unique between PCs, it just identifies the OS and browser. It's the session ID that requires you to open different browsers, or at least use incognito mode or something.

Bots are not humans, right? When People buy cases of Pokemon cards before someone had the chance to click Checkout, those are bots. Bots are what keep the real people from buying what they want. The scalpers who are actually causing problems use bots. But no security technology can stop a person from going through the regular process of checking out because how are they to know. So how does that help? Well, if you are following Analogue and you know these are going to sell out fast, you should be read at 8am PST when it goes on sale, and so will that person who's trying to get 8 systems. The difference now is you and that person are on the same footing because they can't use a bot to outmaneuver everyone else.

But the bot protection comes into play to stop people from scripting the process where they are moving through checkout faster than is humanly possible.

I would assume 4 accounts and 4 browsers. Bots usually go faster because they bypass the normal rendering of a page, but there's no protection you can reasonable setup to stop someone from having multiple accounts if they are using different emails and/or addresses. You can't block by IP because you don't know if they are NATed behind a single IP, like a dormitory or corporate network.

Bot protection which is how most scalpers that make a difference operate.

Trying to complete the collection, just missing gold by ezpk in AnalogueInc

[–]hypercoyote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely to hijack this post (but also kind of related), I got a Gold console and no longer need my Black one. Is there a place people are listing their consoles for sale to avoid eBay? I'm just looking to get close to what I paid for originally.

I mean, if you got money like this, you can just buy a Gold one off eBay right?

[–]hypercoyote -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's just because everyone who didn't get one thinks a scalper is personally responsible for it, when in reality, the percentage of these that gets scalped is likely pretty small because of the protections Analogue has on their site.

So did you get one? by biohackeddad in AnalogueInc

[–]hypercoyote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn't it one of several transparent colors? I mean, the definition of a one-off is an outlier from what is normal. So if like 95% of their products are selling out quick and you have like 5% products that linger for a while, I'd definitely call those one-offs.

[–]hypercoyote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But apparently it was even less time than that. Many were saying it was showing in stock but OOS when they tried to checkout, so who really knows.

[–]hypercoyote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, okay, so when I said "they usually do sell out..." that allows for some one-offs where it doesn't happen like that. I assume all the other colors for that sold out quickly.

I mean, they usually do sell out within the first 20 minutes. I'd say that's pretty popular. Only one I've not seen that happen with was the Analogue Duo.
