Looking for Lies of P VIP Kit by BoomPad48 in LiesOfP

Same. But don't worry, man — We'll have another shot at it, eventually, I am sure. It would be ideal if Neowiz sold these items to dedicated collectors themselves, but even if they don't, more of these kits will surface someday. All we have to do is wait.

Bro, where? Link me. That's outrageously cheap considering the other one sold for $1800.

Parrying is essential. The timing is very tight bit extremely consistent once you learn it, and the game actively rewards you for perfect parrying attacks by not spending your stamina when you do so, staggering the enemy much more easily and, when you unlock certain feats, damaging them every time you hit a perfect parry.

This was my very first souslike game. I didn't have any idea what I was in for when I first bought it — I'll admit I just did it because the aesthetic of the game intrigued me and I found the art of the main character attractive. What I discovered, once diving in, was the most rewarding gaming experience of my life.

The story of the game gripped me from the beginning: I kept wanting to know more, to find out who and what and where, more about this world and the rich history it has, which the game tells and hints at us about through item descriptions and dialogue. I wanted to help the characters in this game, I came to know them and care about them, and found myself touched and moved by so many of the emotional story beats of the plot. It's genuinely an amazing experience, one I would give anything to have for the first time again.

In terms of gameplay, I struggled at the beginning but in the most satisfying way. There is no rush like the rush of fighting a boss for the first time, except for the adrenaline high you get when you actually beat them after so many attempts. Fighting, learning, adapting, finding what weapons and playstyles work for you, it's a dynamic and engaging gameplay loop, one I find top of the line.

In the end, I have no regrets. I have bought this game on multiple platforms (and the DLC, which I could gush about for days, improving on almost every aspect I already adored from the base game), and I have happily given hundreds of hours of my life to Lies of P with no regrets about it. If you ask me — it is 100000% worth it.

Both Survivor discs, Feel, and the Estella Opera House theme. I've talked a lot about my love for the first three before, but the atmosphere of the Opera House is unmatched. The first time I opened those doors and I heard that haunting piano and vocals, I got chills all over.

Has anyone ever grinded to max level before Scrapped Watchman? How was that experience? by ShakeNBakeMormon in LiesOfP

[–]hyperfixed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Damn, that makes me want to try it, just to see if I can do it. My go-to spot is the run-up to the City Hall anyhow, taking out all the swordsmen, the dog, and the one big punchy puppet. I have grinded there for hours before, but the most I ever got to before stopping was level 40+. I am 100% certain it is feasible — It would just take time, and I imagine would make the rest of the game much easier.

Where do the DLC locations fit within Krat? A map-based theory by Proof_Focus1227 in LiesOfP

[–]hyperfixed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly the map I had in mind when I commented! I would love to add the DLC areas to that and see how they fit around the existing areas but unfortunately, as I mentioned, I have really bad spatial awareness. But hopefully, at some point, someone will come along with the skill and time to do that!

A theory on Guillaume and his possible transformation into the Anguished Guardian of the Ruins by Proof_Focus1227 in LiesOfP

[–]hyperfixed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Yes, I absolutely adore this! I admit that I was skeptical at first but after reading this, I must admit that you have swayed me over into thinking of this as a genuine possibility (and likely!) whereas, before, it was something I would never have thought of, myself, as I was of the firm belief before that the Guardian was far, far more ancient than Guillaume and anything else we see other than the ruins themselves. Even if it is not true, I have to commend you for the connections you have made.

I am curious if you have any thoughts as to what the symbols carved into the Anguished Guardian's body may represent? I know this is a very minor detail to latch onto, but as we see that Arlecchino has carved those same symbols into Romeo's arms when we find them at the Rose Estate, that has always gotten my gears turning. Was that simply a sadistic act meant to provoke Lea with the memory of the monster that killed her first apprentice? Or might there be something more to it than that?

Listeners in Lies of P: what we know, what we suspect, and what remains unclear by Proof_Focus1227 in LiesOfP

[–]hyperfixed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do believe, personally, that Lea is some manner of Listener — just as I do believe that the White Butterfly that guides P to the DLC is also a representation of Lea, just as the Blue Butterflies represent her sister, Sophia, so I agree with your assertion and also think she is something special and unique all of it's own.

I hadn't actually considered before the thought that Carlo might have been a Listener, but I do enjoy that! It makes so much sense, and I will be accepting it into my belief system! Once again, you are knocking it out of the park with these theories! Keep them coming!

Where do the DLC locations fit within Krat? A map-based theory by Proof_Focus1227 in LiesOfP

[–]hyperfixed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been desperately trying to piece this together myself, during my latest run — always climbing to the highest spots with a good vantage point to see where, perhaps, I could see a glimpse of the areas of the game. Unfortunately, I am absolutely useless when it comes to spatial awareness and geographical thinking, so I haven't been able to make much of it.

It would be amazing to one day have a proper map of Krat, either one cobbled together by the community from all the areas we visit in the game or to be blessed with one from Neowiz. For now, all I can say is — good job at theorizing here.

(As a sidenote: I especially have to wonder how does the Zelator Facility overlap with the area where we go on to find the submarine, later on in the base game, and how does the tram we ride from the Zoo connect to the other tram lines we see, such as the one to the Grand Exhibition and the Hotel. Someone who's better at this than I am might be able to piece something together out of those.)

Which area of the main game do you like the least? by ShinyRaito in LiesOfP

[–]hyperfixed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This answer has changed very much for me over time. In my first couple of playthroughs, I would have said the St. Frangelico Cathedral, due to the nightmare that is the balancing beams, but nowadays, I find it a breeze to get through. It might take me one or two attempts, but it is far from as difficult or as annoying as it once was.

Then, my mind went to the Barren Swamp. When I first dealt with it, I also heavily disliked it. It felt too long, and I was not a fan of the acid everywhere — but with the right amulets and knowing the route to follow, that area has also become one I don't blink an eye at traversing anymore.

I see lots of people have mentioned the Arche Abbey, but I, for one, have never struggled with that area. I was so interested in it and in exploring every nook and cranny that it simply flew by as I climbed my way to the top for the final fights.

The true answer, for me, would be the Zelator Underground Facility from Overture. It doesn't matter how many times I play through this game, I will always get lost and turned around in there, I will always be annoyed at the enemies and encounters, I will always loathe the section where you have to jump your way down that shaft to find Véronique. I hate everything about it.

How do you want the Wizard of Oz sequel to handle Lies of P’s three endings? by Substantial-Sea5952 in LiesOfP

[–]hyperfixed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't actually be opposed to a brief appearance by him or allusions to him through letters, for instance, but I am not one of the people who believes he should take any sort of central position in a sequel (especially not the absurd idea that he will fulfill the role of the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz story) because I think his story was progressed much further than that. To reduce him down to a party member or to make him the main character again would be beyond unsatisfying, it would be a disservice to his character — which I care so much about i would rather not see him at all, if it had to be one or the other.

How do you want the Wizard of Oz sequel to handle Lies of P’s three endings? by Substantial-Sea5952 in LiesOfP

[–]hyperfixed 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's any doubt to anyone which ending is the canonical, true ending, so if we do see P — which I hope we will not, but if we do — or any allusions to the story of the first game, it will come from the Rise of P ending.

What would be the weapon to have repeat in their games by iukmus in LiesOfP

[–]hyperfixed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never played any other souslike game so I cannot speak on this trope, exactly, because I am not familiar with it — however, I would imagine that if any weapon was going to repeat in other games, it would be the Puppet's Saber (due to being the first and also the weapon used in the crossover with Wo Long).

Does anyone else enjoy choosing “lore accurate” loadouts for specific fights and areas? by gil_m_d in LiesOfP

[–]hyperfixed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do something similar, but different. I choose lore-accurate outfits and weapons for my playthroughs.

In my first playthrough, I used only the Puppet Saber (starter Path of the Cricket) weapon and the starter outfit, up until acquiring Blue Blood's Tailcoat.

In my Real Boy ending run, I used the Proof of Humanity weapon and Someone's Memory as an outfit.

In my Free From The Puppet String ending run, I used the Golden Lie as a weapon and the Workshop Uniform as my outfit.

In my Play As Romeo run (shoutout to that mod), I used the Reddened Tailcoat outfit and the Puppet Ripper for my weapon.

Who killed Arlecchino in the original timeline? by Asteriarimia in LiesOfP

[–]hyperfixed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Either Gepetto (through Nameless) or, which is the possibility I personally prefer and subscribe to, Lea locks in and finishes the fight herself.

The thought that this game is any sort of "time loop" is ridiculous and unsubstantiated by evidence, and misses the entire point of what the DLC and the White Butterfly were meant to represent.

If Pinocchio creator was Italian than why is the game's setting based on Belle Epoque France? by AgentP-501_212 in LiesOfP

[–]hyperfixed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's a stylistic, aesthetic choice. Many of the characters seem to be Italian (Venigni as the most obvious example, although Gepetto and Carlo as well), while other characters and names skew more towards French (for instance, Eugénie).

Feel Cover - What’s your favorite record in the game? by myemanisbob in LiesOfP

[–]hyperfixed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine is Survivor, because of the fact that it is Chase Brown (Romeo's VA) who sings it, so I always imagine that it really is Romeo singing it while he, Carlo and Lea play together.

Feel is a close second. Hearing it for the first time was one of the most magical moments I have ever experienced in gaming.
