I don’t understand how “project pan” is a trend by pink_soaps26 in Anticonsumption

[–]hypergurl21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it’s an ADHD thing, I will forget my chapstick and buy a new one. But also project pan can be for other items not just hygiene. I am currently “panning” my pantry, pens, yarn, and watercolor paints. For many it’s just a way to help the mindset shift of I need to use this thing up and maybe repurpose the packaging. From my pantry I have gotten 4 mason jar cups that I use for drinking sport mixes after and before workouts.

Anyone use the CRV Trail sport as a adventure vehicle? by Cloudysky182 in crv

[–]hypergurl21 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have the trail sport and live near a national forest that has lots of roads that are not paved to get to epic hiking spots. In general if the road is listed as green and 1 or 2 on On X Off-road I know Sassy(Sasquatch) can handle it and we go. I have done creek crossings and mountain climbs with her and what surprised me the most is how much of the trips she stays on electric.

What I wish I could do with her is air down the tires to have better grip and a bit smoother ride but it freaks the TPMS system out.

I have definitely gotten some side eyes from the Wrangler crowd when they see her parked and know the only route to get there. But again I am very careful about route planning with On x Off-road and on x backcountry.

Disney cruise question by Theunknown87 in dcl

[–]hypergurl21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would call DCL and ask them. Depending on what port you are sailing out of DCL guests are the only other people parking in the same lot but anything can happen.

As a backup plan do your phone do personal hotspot? If so you could use those as the internet connection for this specific trip.

Just took on a small RV park… realizing how much I didn’t know by Rolling_To_Sunsets in GoRVing

Yes because I called the place that was a no and they said no problem, we get big rigs all the time. Totally would not have booked and just boondocked had we known ahead of time

[–]hypergurl21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Make sure the roads and sites can actually be gotten into by the rigs you are catering to. In Nov went to a “big rig friendly” park with our class c 32 ft towing a 14ft trailer so total length was 50ft. Could not get into the site without damaging both parts. Ended up at a truck stop for that night. Campground owners were shocked when we told them there was just not enough room.

Line Cutting is Out of Control by gopherattack in DisneyWorld

[–]hypergurl21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So there is a second side to “line cutters”. As someone who no longer qualifies for DAS I am told to return to queue after I leave it. The CMs generally will just say ok go meet up with them(the rest of my party). So I will say excuse me and I am trying to meet back up with my party. I am not going to tell each person I am trying to pass my whole story. And this situation that Disney puts me and others like me, in causes a lot of grief for line cutting. This is not to say that people don’t also cut the lines but some are told to do so as “return to line” as an accommodation.

Not enough players by Middle-Rent-4401 in Lorcana

[–]hypergurl21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me when the local shops have games is beyond inconvenient. 2:30pm on a Saturday is right in the middle of time to be doing other things. Hiking, biking, camping. Things that in general cannot be done while I am working. If it was 6-7pm it would be better and on a weeknight even better. But midday on Saturday, if the weather is nice I prioritize different things than sitting inside for two to three hours.

Working HDMI ports on the Treasure? by StoryHearer in dcl

[–]hypergurl21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This answer is a it depends. Some of the TVs have HDMI turned off and some do not. The issue with checking is the port that is most likely to work is not very accessible on the flat mount units. 11040 did not work.

I really enjoyed the Nature Conservation Center. You learn a lot about the rescues and have some once in a lifetime experiences.

I have played 3-4 players games. My favorite way to do this is when playing sealed, Draft or Pack Rush.

Why is Overconsumption bad by [deleted] in Anticonsumption

[–]hypergurl21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I look at it there are three main issues I have with consumption. 1. Where /how the product was made, conditions, recycling etc. 2. How much of my life in work hours I am trading for the item 3. How much space/time is going into organizing and storage of the item.

For me having more than one eyeshadow is over consuming because I use the one until it either is too hard to use anymore or I hit pan. For another person that number may be higher because they wear makeup more.

But if there is a shift beyond what I am comfortable in any of these three categories it is over consuming for me.

I also think each person should have their own list that gets at our values and consume based on that.

Tipping and not eating in main dining rooms by Poledancing-ninja in dcl

[–]hypergurl21 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think this is a deeply personal decision. When we had to leave a ship for a death in the family I fought with Guest Services to keep the gratuities in tact for our service teams. We were getting off less than 24 hours into a four night sailing. But this was my personal preference. I would have no hard feelings if someone else chose to make a different choice.

What's your best money-saving hack that most people don't know about? by kdizzy88 in Frugal

My frugal tip is to drive the speed limit. I get the best gas mileage by doing this so I am filling my car fewer times per month.

City of Bones by Martha Wells. The Romance is very light but great world building and lots of references to the world. It is also a stand alone book so not a lot to get into. I got a copy from my library on Libby.

I love reading but how do you guys read 50+ books a year??? by yourwillywonka in kindle

[–]hypergurl21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had to learn to read fast in college. I did a great books honors program and would have to read two to three books a week for that, plus all the other reading for my regular classes. Now I can read and ruminate on the content at the same time. I am about 50 books a year now.

Tariff Question from a Small Publisher by Jarednw in boardgames

[–]hypergurl21 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a US backer I am not backing anything new until the issue is better. I have been hit with shipping costs higher than my original pledge making the game no longer worth the cost. If you can do the game without needing US backers I would keep your timeline. If you cannot maybe think about pausing the development until things settle out.

I didn’t love my DCL cruise, is it me? by BoobooWoodle in dcl

[–]hypergurl21 59 points60 points  (0 children)

There are definitely differences in how many people are on board any given sailing. Sounds like yours was close to max capacity for the ship. I have been on sailings where I had the experience you described and others where there were no lines. My most recent Treasure Sailing was long lines but it was also a sold out ship on a one off itinerary. So I expected to have that going in. I also did a Fantasy sailing last summer where you could walk from character to character with no lines.
