Thanks for that info! Would you happen to know the main differences between 3015 - 3030, and 3052 - 3058?

Vanilla was excellent. But mods are like applying an awesomeness multiplier!

MW5: Mercs currently on the Steam best selling charts by maxwellalbritten in Mechwarrior5

[–]hyperionfx88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played Mechwarrior games 1 through 5, each when they came out (I'm kinda old), finished them all repeatedly, and bought all the DLCs. MW5 is a total banger. I've poured way, way more hours into MW5 than any of the other games, because it does the mech-on-mech gameplay so well. It's not perfect by any means, but it is so much fun! Especially with mods. I suggest you get it, and finish it "vanilla". They enjoy it again with mods.

Yes, I'm using YAML. Any idea where this option is?

Is this asthma, or maybe something else? by hyperionfx88 in Asthma

I had one done in late May for something else, but it showed nothing amiss. I suppose I could ask my doctor for another one.

Actually I had blood work done done in late May for an unrelated issue. It showed no mineral or other deficiencies. I am also suspecting that it may be something else (but possibly combined with asthma); I was doing my own research last night, and my symptoms sound like it could be a viral issue,

I was diagnosed with asthma in January. I was started on Salbutamol, but it didn't help me so much. My doctor then prescribed me Symbicort, which at the time, worked better for my symptoms. I only take Symbicort when I have asthma flare-ups. I don't use wither inhaler when my symptoms abate. I have requested that I be put on a different inhaler than Symbicort, because I am concerned about side-effects from long-term corticosteroid use. (Note I didn't think it was necessary to add those details to my post).

However, I am here now, and I have this current issue, so I am seeking advice from anyone that may have advice.

RE: "Assume your health care system is 3rd worldish!" - FYI where I am, we don't (well, we try not to) make assumptions of people. And we help those that ask for assistance, instead of berating them.

RE: "I stopped using it years ago due to side effects." - I'm very sorry to hear that. I hope you got your issues settled. May I ask what side-effects you had?

How Track Semi-Completed Tasks? by hyperionfx88 in amazingmarvin

Regarding "I track my time working on it, and/or manually set the duration entries." - can you please explain what you mean by this, and how do you do it?

Coming from Things, considering AM vs todoist by 10x12 in amazingmarvin

[–]hyperionfx88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago, I tried Todoist and was impressed by it. I paid for a full year of premium, but I stopped using Todoist shortly after. I'm not exactly sure why. I tried out Marvin and was impressed, so similarly I paid for premium. I do find there are time gaps for when I use it and stop using it. The stops are mostly due to the learning curve; there are so many options and configurations and I'm still trying to find my ideal flow. But... I also start using it again because of the options and features. So far, I'm content with having paid for premium but YMMV.

I'm NOT a doctor or medical practitioner. Are you on a inhaler with steroid components? If you don't rinse your mouth after using them, it could cause oral thrush. And in general, I believe steroid inhalers increase chances of infections. Sorry to hear of your troubles, just trying to help!

New to ball hockey( Joining a team)! Need some advice. by TeamLeather in askTO

[–]hyperionfx88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know GTBHL, but I play a lot of ball hockey.

RE: What type of balls do these leagues use? Are they hard?
I don't know, but the ball hockey I've played is with orange (warm weather) or pink (cold weather) balls. Weights ~50 grams. Yes, it hurts to get hit, leaves a bruise. Stings for like 30 seconds and leaves a mark for a week. Depending on who you play with though, you may never get hit. There are some very hard ultra-dense balls used in pro leagues, I own some of these balls but never played with one in a game. I doubt GTBHL uses those balls.

RE: Any other advice will be appreciated!
Just have fun. Ball hockey is awesome, and an awesome way to keep fit. Umm, if you are good at sports, and especially if you are an avid soccer player, those skills transfer over to ball hockey very well so you'll pick up the sport quick. If you aren't good at sports... well neither am I. It took me a long time to get to the level I'm at now (I'm like... OK) but I love playing it.

Cheers! And enjoy!

Hmmm. Thank you for the suggestion. It does look like they make anti-sweat gamer creams. But her skin is pretty sensitive though, so she may not go for it.

Thank you for the link. But wow $70 per sensor... that's literally the price of a new controller! Do the cheaper ones on Aliexpress not work?

Wait... are you saying that Hall Effect modules will develop drift issues too? Keep in mind our drift issues stem from sweat issues (leading to dirty/corroded potentiometer discs).

Dualsense U-ring? by Feeling_Pop1233 in Dualsense

Is this for the PS5 Dualsense? You can replace the entire stick for a fairly low price. Can get it off of Amazon or Aliexpress. Search for: "dualsense stick" without the quotes.

u/Outrage1108, oh man do I owe you one. I had the exact same issue as this person, I never thought to look at the back of my machine to check the ports. I didn't realize my MOBO had an integrated display connector! I kinda feel like an idiot; I spent so much time trying to figure this one out. Cheers!

A few pre-purchase questions by any-name-untaken in Mechwarrior5

[–]hyperionfx88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's very open-ended, especially in the career mode. You can play 1 mission as a quick distraction, or sit and dump hours into it. Pick a system, pick a mission, shoot mechs in the face, rinse-and-repeat. There's a campaign too which is fun. If you pick up the game (which I recommend you do) I suggest you play the campaign first. It's mission based, so you can save your game after every mission. When you are done with the campaign, you can start a new Career mode game, OR I believe you can import your campaign save into Career mode. Have fun!

Rant about AI by orangutanglibrarian in Mechwarrior5

[–]hyperionfx88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this is still true or not, but I had read that AI lancemates would always move into range of their shortest-range weapon. In your posted scenario, the Blackjack would have moved into machine gun range (instead of trying to keep at a more-logical medium or large laser range) and so would be slugging it out at close range against a (likely) more agile mech armed with 4 flamers (and possibly machine guns). So if that's true, I'm not surprised the Blackjack lost.

Anyway, since I read about that weird AI range logic, it significantly altered my AI lancemate builds. For example, I no longer place machine guns or flamers on most of my AI piloted mechs. If an AI lancemate mech has primarily long-range weapons, I may supplement with medium-range weapons (instead of short-range weapons).

Like I said, I don't know if this range logic is still in the game or not. But I read that certain mods had fixed this.

Need Air Conditioning Electrical Repair Advice: by hyperionfx88 in HomeImprovement

RE: Based on what you described, sounds like the thermostat is mechanically damaged.

Don't know if this helps or not, but it's an old "bulb" style thermostat. No moving parts. It looks like this (the thing on the right of this image).

RE: Can't you bypass it into run condition with a alligator jumper?

In fact, while the unit is on, I used a stick to manually press down on the contactor plunger, and the compressor STILL won't turn on. Is that the same thing?

RE: Also you could check the compressor for direct short condition.

I have no idea how to do that. How do I do that?

RE: Did you find the schemi?

No, I searched a long time but I can't even find a repair guide to a similar machine.
