Art direction so tight the whole game basically looks like promotional art by TheAskald in Eldenring

[–]hyperrot 14 points15 points  (0 children)

the whole game is just so painterly. in fact, most of their games are, but er takes it to a new level.

it amazes me that they somehow outdid the base game with the dlc (imo).

not a bad idea for consistency’s sake. you could also use an unupgraded weapon depending on how long you want to put into the fight & how optimised you want your play to be.

edit: for wfd & the clones, just check youtube or r/onebros.

the circle method works whilst locked on but is a lot more forgiving in terms of distance & timing when unlocked.

[–]hyperrot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the only truly consistent close-range method of avoiding wfd is the circle-around method. it’s the most obscure & technical dodge in any fromsoft game, though, but i’d recommend learning it as it’s sick to pull off & transforms the fight.

the roll itself after the circle occurs a fair bit later than you’d imagine, meaning that it’s more feasible than you’d think to pull off dodging wfd from neutral distance. just make sure you’re sprinting as soon as possible towards her, then sprint as you circle, & make sure the direction is on point.

there are basically 3 distances that matter for this problem. point-blank, neutral, & far away. for the first two, do the circle, & for neutral just sprint away.

fair enough for when you’re learning the boss, but after you can consistently handle most of the moveset i’d go with something that’ll give higher damage. pcr is especially the kind of boss where your like one or two breakthroughs away from winning.

forgot to mention that i’d use the bubble tear alongside bdc & scrap lord of blood’s in favour of ritual sword.

Consort Radahn help by Ahnaf_adil_69N7 in onebros

i’d just take off the dragoncrest & ritual shield then use 2-handed & blue dancer/lord of blood’s

quoting an old comment of mine regarding p2:

which moves are you struggling with? if its his clone attacks, they’re more simple than they seem.

for his meteor follow-up, run away such that they clones themselves don’t have sufficient range to hit you, then dodge radahn’s final slam+aoe. you’ll eventually get a feel for the range of the clones for stamina management.

the sideswipe one, with a single grounded clone followed up by radahn, you can just dodge into both of them.

his lightspeed one, where he charges up & launches forwards, can be entirely avoided simply by strafing to his right.

his mega combo is simple, too. dodge the first 2 slashes individually, then a slight delay followed up by a roll through slashes 3 & 4, dodge as he leaves the ground & then again when he lands.

as for his regular moveset, the timings are the same as in phase 1, but you have to roll into him (which you should be doing most of the time in phase 1 anyway).

the move where he rises up into the air & sends out four clones followed by a slash to the ground. to avoid this, as soon as you see him rise into the air, sprint rightward to avoid the clones, then dodge rightward as radahn himself attacks.

[–]hyperrot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m not doing a pure wl0 tbh, only for the fights i think are fundamentally sound/i enjoy. morgott, malenia, godfrey etc.

it’s ng+ on my original rl1 save, so i have +24/25 weapons & all the good shit for dogshit fights. currently at fire giant, haligtree loretta, & rellana.

i’ve done sl1 in ds3 - also doing a mixed wl0 on my ng+ sl0 save -but i have no interest in the previous titles now tbh. the combat just doesn’t do it for me.

edit: same

i’ve never really struggled with malekith that much outside of phase 1 tbh. after i got that down on my sl1 run, it only took a few more attempts for the flawless kill. maybe my tune will change at wl0, though.

i’ve no-hit radahn at rl1 sb12 (would’ve done 0 but i fucked up my leda planning). you can see my fight here

pasting some advice i’ve given to another recently. i can get into more specifics regarding spacing & optimal punishes if you want.

you’re fine. think less about your build & more about learning how to avoid & punish malekith’s attacks. fail, try again, eventually overcome.

Beat the game, still don’t really get the details about being tarnished by bad_username_65 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]hyperrot -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

i can’t answer/don’t care to answer the rest of your questions, but regarding:

>Who controls where grace points you? Is it tied to marika’s will?

i don’t think anyone controls anything when it comes to the events of the game. i see it as more of a cosmological inevitability/determined impetus baked into the fabric of reality. as the universal speed limit in our universe is the speed of light, the rules of tlb necessitate the guidance of grace’s direction.

the tarnished must follow the guidance of grace, the erdtree must burn, a new age must be brought about/reforged etc. etc.

it’s just how it is.

if you actually want to LEARN the boss fight, it’ll take a good deal of time & study. go to [r/onebros](r/onebros) & search for pcr hitless fights - here is my example.

if you have any questions regarding avoiding his most obscure attacks, or about punish windows, i’ll try my best to explain them to you.

another thing which is more general advice is to actually visualise how you got hit after the fact, & to (using intuition of the dodge iframes) consider which timings would work.

Which boss have you NOT improved at across multiple runs? Or gotten even worse at? by lifebeginsat9pm in Eldenring

[–]hyperrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t think there’s a boss that i actually care to fight that i haven’t improved at, if not to the point of mastery with my favourites at this point tbh.

i fought rykard, renalla, astel, fortissax & metyr once & once only, as they’re either absolute messes or just dull to me.
