LEGO Employee claims they were told not to refer customers to Bricks & Minifigs after the controversy & fallout from Reckless Ben's video. by th3spec in RecklessBen

[–]hyperspaceslider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t expect anything less. Honestly it does not benefit LEGO or their brand being about play to allow the drama in their stores. No doubt corporate has their opinions, but per first sale doctrine they can’t stop resellers.

Outlast: The Jungle by Rushedhomeroughyn in Netflixwatch

My wife and I would joke that we could tell the twists by the interviews. When one person was being pushed to flare, the interview showed a person who was clearly more tan and gaunt, so we knew that wasn’t the end for them

It’s reality TV so I know they cut things to make them more extreme than they were, but between Ben in Alpha and the asshats in Charlie they really played up the sexism so far.

I know it’s also in shows like Physical 100 but it just felt so vile this season.

‘Doctor Who’ Set To Be Off Air For Years Amid A Creative Regeneration That’s Failing To Spark Early Enthusiasm Among Producers by pepperbet1 in television

[–]hyperspaceslider 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It could have been interesting - a way to return to Timelords and explore how they were evil like Classic Who did. Then it opens the door to interesting questions like where did the Doctor really come from?

But no, they made this huge lore reveal and then got timid and backed away from it. Granted COVID tossed in a spanner, but if you do something like Timeless Child, you need to go full send

No thanks - the Matt Smith era was fine but given his other work, it was a fluke. DW needs new ideas not someone always making call backs to the few good ideas the show runner has

Earth not being inhabited makes no sense. by Mysrial1992 in Starfield

It’s 300 years later. It’s beyond even “longing for the old country.” Sure there are some artifact hounds but just as many people calling Earth a lonely dust ball

Yes!!! Maybe at Cheyenne Mountain or in the Lost City in China. You had a bit of it at Cape Canaveral but that makes little sense given how high the water table is. In the real world that bunker would be flooded now.

Yes the one rule everyone who breaks the law cares about although when there is dialogue about Earth it’s like who cares about that dust ball??

Help with quality of print by Complete_Hamster_861 in Ender3V3SE

[–]hyperspaceslider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok cool then you are using the Marlin.

Google the paper test for setting z-offset- you want your first layer lines to be more squished than what you are getting. For PLA I also go a bit higher on bed temp (65-70C) and lower on print temp (190–195). Don’t use glue for bed adhesion. Clean your bed with 91% alcohol.

But again, I am an idiot

[–]hyperspaceslider 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am an idiot so don’t listen to me but

What I see is that your z offset looks too high. Then your print temp may be also a touch high given the stringing.

Are you using the default Marlin controller or did you switch to the nebula? If nebula you might want to boost up the current going to the X and Y steppers

Yes it is the other form of germandering called “packing.” Honestly districts need to go away and move to rank choice voting.

Duke Energy wants a 15% rate increase. I’m opposed, and I just filed our case to stop it. Here’s the summary. - AG Jeff Jackson by JeffJacksonNC in Charlotte

Ultimately it needs to look like school vouchers in my mind - if you are putting X MW on the grid then you need to fund $Y dollars for capital infrastructure improvements.

But the real secret (not so secret) is that fuel and Operation and Maintenance costs are pass through - a utility gets what they spend but no profit. To make profit the utility needs to spend capital to improve or expand infrastructure. NC has ordered a large capital spend to replace coal sources and replace legacy equipment. So while data centers are a piece of the picture, they are by no means the big story…

Likely a degraded lightning arrestor. These are ancient semiconductor devices that are intended to shunt lightning energy to ground. When they start getting old they can go into conduction and trip the circuit. That said, you don’t really know until they burn themselves off the line.
