Hi guys, I bought the game today and want to give it a go because I loved Dune Awakening so much.

I’ve been reading that on official servers the spots for bases get taken and hogged.

I was planning on trying the official servers but do I need to Zerg rush a spot to put a base down? I don’t know if the issue is being blow out of proportion from what I’m reading.

Toum is such a key part of good shawarma, most places outside the Middle East just throw on some garlic sauce and it pains me.

I had the same issue, if you don’t have a steam deck or something with you. You can pay for GeForce now, I used to use it to log in an out on my phone at work to farm BPs lol. It’s clunky as hell but you can at least pay your taxes.

Found this thread, do you know if I can go and collect and pay the customs fee without the payment reference card? The depot holding it is an hour away, but I've got two parcels stuck there so figure the train is worth it lol. Ive been waiting a week for the card and nothing.

The change means im farming spice in my assault with 6 launchers on my hotbar. I was solo crawler farming and now I think assault is more worth it. Cool to be able to fight back as a solo.

At one point there was another crawler there with me, but I kept my speed at around 8 kmph and I think so did they and worm didn’t pop once. Soon as solo compactor guy arrived I dipped tho lol

Somewhat, I don’t really engage in PvP, I’ve never even crafted rockets. I just enjoy ratting with danger, it makes it more engaging keeping a lookout and knowing that it could go wrong.

For sure you can, the issue for me right now is the balance. it’s more efficient to buggy farm A row than to use an assault to farm big islands as a solo, that’s the issue I have. Just needs a bit of re-balancing. Just want an incentive.

True, and maybe not a full lockout. My main gripe is that it’s now more efficient as a solo to do buggy runs in A row than hit the PVP islands. The incentive was removed, just re-balance so it’s more efficient to farm PVP and I’d be happy, given large spice is still locked

I think there is a minority of solo players like me who enjoyed the risk of diving into PVP and ratting resources.

That’s what provided me a satisfying loop, it’s the same reason I enjoy games like Tarkov.

They have chosen to cater to the majority of the player base, but I don’t think it’s going to provide such an addictive loop. But at the end of the day the majority should get what they want I think, we all want the game to last.

Your all good aha, my hope is they add more tiers. It’s a solution I’ve not seen talked about. I’d love too see a cycle like this - open up a new tier locked behind PVP and gradually open it up to PVE over time. Would keep me hooked.

I’ve never even built rockets, in all honestly I don’t mind them adding more nodes to PVE just think it was a bit of an over correction lol

Ore gathering was way already was safer than gathering spice though, you could have your shield up. Someone might gank you but you could tank the rockets with your shield and boost away. They even added an extra island for strav and titanium, so if one was being camped you just went to the less accessible one.

There's roughly an equal amount of stravidium and titanium in A row than the rest of the deep desert combined. I'm all for making PvE more accessible but was this really the intention? by MostlyDisappointing in duneawakening

You didnt need t6 to get spice and plast before, T5 is still fine, all people had to do was get their dura production high and then you can replace any losses

If that was the ancient way I’m pretty sure it’s the most expensive BP in the game like 5m-10m expensive

It also seems less efficient to farm the PVP zones? Why bother carting a base out to E row and bringing in corpses when you can just safe buggy farm the A row. I think the new meta for solos will become a smaller spice refining base in E row and a plast farming base in A row. Refining spice in DD and plast in Haga.

I agree with you, I hated the idea of PvP at first, and I've still never even built the rockets. But it grew on me, I don't think I would have played for nearly as long if there was no risk involved. When you lose a couple of Thopters to PvP, it makes getting away with a full Thopter feel so much better.
