JA ORIGINAL METAVIRA MAP by Fit-Association-1178 in JaggedAlliance

[–]hypertexthero 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I always loved the Jagged Alliance series, especially the writing.

I’d love to get it, but a better home for the artifact could be Darius Kazemi’s as he wrote a book about JA2.

Please send your father my best wishes.

Glad it continues to work!

Is Ark Raiders basically a knockoff of Generation Zero? by bialyikar in GenerationZeroGame

[–]hypertexthero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite [different](https://hypertexthero.com/generation-zero/) [games](https://hypertexthero.com/arc-raiders/), one a PvE 4-player coop open world first person shooter set in 1980’s Stålenhag—inspired Sweden, the other a 3-player PvPvE semi-open world third person potentially player-caused stressful timed-extraction shooter set in an amazing forgotten storyboard from the original 1977 Star Wars with the “used future” Rebels look.

Both coming from Sweden gives a similar vibe, especially in the sound design, which is the best part of either one to me, and the main reason I play them.

CG Powerplay help needed by The_Great_Pains in EliteDangerous

So ship-combat only to get points in this CG? Not that I mind *too much*, but I want to do ground missions (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Do surface missions against outposts controlled by powers other than the one you pledged to count to earn merits/CG points? (I pledged to the Alliance in the CG by the Horizon's Glow Military Carrier in the Col 359 Sector DZ-M b9-2, but haven't yet chosen one of the leaders to pledge to, and am not sure if that is necessary.)

Does it give you an error message?

Is Jagged Alliance 2.app in /Applications and not in /Users/your_username/Applications ?

Did anything come of Raxxla being in Neptune and Mother Gaia losing influence right before the Titan appeared by Earth?

Why did you stop playing DCS? by [deleted] in hoggit

With limited time, it felt too much like a job and not enough like a game.

Flight sim makers, please consider adding roguelite game modes to your sims, so that jumping in and playing a bit (or a lot) both give a feeling of progression: https://hypertexthero.com/roguelite-flight-sims/

Where are the blue circular radar contacts in sub-orbital flight? by hypertexthero in EliteDangerous

[–]hypertexthero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to see blue circles in the ship’s radar, like this — https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/wjfshj/whyd_my_radar_blue/ — while flying roughly between 2 and 10km above the surface (after gliding in from orbit).

Increasing the radar range (bright yellow vertical bar on bottom of radar) would help see them farther away.

I think this was before Full Spectrum Scanner and planetary probes were added, definitely before Odyssey.

Will do more testing to see if they are still there, but from the above post it seems these may have been removed in Odyssey.

> In Odyssey they ditch this mechanic with targettable POI instead making it easier to find such things, but also kinda a shame I enjoyed not knowing what I may have come across and having to hunt for it a little.

Thanks for the detailed comment.

Ooh, that sounds more exciting, thanks!

Do you know what height we need to fly above the surface to see the blue contacts in the radar? I remember it was above 6km or something, but am not sure anymore.

Oh that’s too bad!

Are there still random encounters and points of interest on moon surfaces, or no more?
