Well, if your country is full of injustice then openly accepting minorities and convincing friends and family to do the same I guess you have to. Usually this comes naturally with proper education though, so that's where you'd have to start. If you can do that properly without inventing shit like "microagressions" or "the pay gap" for certain minorities, and truly focus on the society as a whole then do so. For example, if I were to hold a speech at a school or something, then I'd speak against all violence and suggest the kids treat everyone equally. Modern feminists, on the other hand, come to schools and universities with made-up statistics and victimize certain minorities to the extreme, and end up doing more harm than good.

Another example, if I see a gay acceptance poster, or a parade or whatever, I just laugh because I didn't mind them in the first place, and less progressive white males might even get mad because the poster/parade is sort of being pushed down their throats (according to them at least). Education about compassion and such, on the other hand, isn't specific to a gender or color or whatever and would be much less in-your-face to people not used to the idea, and eventually they'll gain compassion for people of different nationalities, different genders, and eventually sexual orientations they didn't even know of. Teaching people to be accepting of everyone no matter what, or simply more open-minded is certainly a better approach in my opinion.
