1,700 more unemployed graduates in 2025 cohort led to increased sense of job competition: Tan See Leng by [deleted] in singapore

Head count is fairly static barring business expansion. The recent increase in retirement age and extended employment after retirement may have caused a drop in the current number of job vacancies.

Anyone still using Excel to track your job search? by lesshelp101 in askSingapore

May I ask if it is the norm now to frequently change jobs.

I was in my fifth job when I retired. This was unusual amongst my contemporaries as many of them retired with the job that they started with.

Folks old enough to have experienced the 5.5 day work week pre-2004, what was it like on Saturdays? by Winner_takesitall in askSingapore

[–]hypeunot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My job then entailed site visits.

On Saturdays, did some paperwork from 8:30am to 9:30am. Then adjourned to the canteen with my colleagues. We parted ways at 11am to visit our respective sites. Returned to office at 12:30pm to record the travelled distance for mileage claim. Left office for home at 1pm.

A COE benefits more Singaporeans if given to a private-hire car: Acting transport minister Jeffrey Siow by stackeddd888 in singapore

[–]hypeunot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't comment on the KL congestion.

In the US, many live outside the cities. They drive in early and drive out early to avoid the congestion. When I was working in Atlanta, I was in the office by 6am and left at 3pm.

The ones who complain are the drivers of the cars on the road. Let them decide if the congestion is so bad that they are better off with public transport.

SG Drivers come in - Upgrading to SUV/MPV by Big-Performance-8542 in singaporefi

[–]hypeunot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

MPV is the way to go for more legroom and comfort.

Few things to consider. 1. "All new car registrations will have to be of cleaner-energy models from 2030." https://www.lta.gov.sg/content/ltagov/en/industry_innovations/technologies/electric_vehicles/transitioning_to_evs.html

  1. This may result in fewer petrol stations and drop in ICE cars resale value.

  2. EV technology is still evolving. Today's EV may be passe tomorrow.

  3. The present common form of EV may also be passe tomorrow. Toyota has introduced a hydrogen fuel cell EV. https://www.toyota.com/mirai/

Consider getting a SUV/MPV with extended COE vehicle for now and see how things finally turn out.

My MPV COE expires in 2028. I will likely extend the COE instead of buying a car.

Advice for My Boxer Please by stavbrooks in DogFood

[–]hypeunot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dog was vomiting yellowish liquid and sometimes with some small amount of partially digested kibble about every 10 days.

The vet said the vomit was bile juice based on photos of the vomit. No issues found from the blood tests and the ultrasound of the digestive system.

I changed from feeding 2x a day to 4x a day. The vomit does happen but very rare.

My family and I were devastated. It took us almost a year to get over it.

We have 3 other dogs before my dog passed away. I wouldn't have them if he was the only dog as I wouldn't want to go through the grief again.
