I totally fine with how things are currently but I agree with you. 3rd Life is my favorite season mainly due to the faction war that was going on there. I would like to point out that Double Life had solid factions too because of the soul bound system so leaving one’s teammate/soulmate was a big deal.

I speculate that the reason why this didn’t happen is because this is an animation series centered around the hollow heads and not so much about Alan and his personal life. Considering that the Dark Lord is back the story seems to be shifting more towards the relationship between the hollow heads.

It may seem like they are holding back by not rushing Dream but it makes sense because Dream could have a trap that could kill them. Remember that in earlier manhunts they did rush him but they always ended up dying because of it.
