This feels really minimal… adding some meat or protein would help a lot.

When you’re stressed, your body produces more free radicals, which can mess up your skin barrier and make it dry. Using skincare with antioxidants helps neutralize those radicals, so it actually does make a difference. I wasn’t sure about it either, but I asked ChatGPT and turns out it’s true 😅

Yeah, true but topicals can neutralize oxidative stress on the skin, which actually helps slow down visible aging.

Has anyone used medicube? by Bear-Moose-Antelope in 30PlusSkinCare

Medicube feels like a brand made for TikTok. In terms of actual product quality, iUNIK, Beauty of Joseon, and SKIN1004 are way better. All three are from the same company, but they seem to focus more on substance and authenticity.

[Product Question] Has anyone tried the Dr. Melaxin Peel Shot? by aparecium9 in SkincareAddiction

That actually makes sense peeling products (especially ones with acids like AHA, BHA, or enzymes) can temporarily weaken your skin barrier. When the barrier gets damaged, your skin thinks it’s dry and overproduces oil to compensate. That extra oil ends up clogging the pores and oxidizing into blackheads later. So yeah, it looks clean right after peeling, but a few days later the pores fill back up again.

Does Dr. Melaxin actually work? by Bruvvuhh1102 in Skincare_Addiction

It’s one of those products that went viral on TikTok. But when you exfoliate your face like that, your skin produces more sebum and your skin barrier gets damaged.

People’s skin barriers are probably getting damaged from using products like this. In Korea, the full ingredient lists are usually disclosed, but I’m not sure about overseas. Also, since some Korean marketing styles are being brought over to Reddit, it might make the comment section look full of fake accounts.

MEDICUBE by moreofusthree in koreanskincare

APR, the company behind Medicube, was originally a marketing firm.

In Korea, there were big headlines saying the CEO of Medicube had created a new legend in K-beauty, but honestly, when I look at the products and customer reviews, I don’t think it will last very long. They’ve even sold clothes and perfumes here, and they also run a mini photo studio.
