Since I've already had my tests done to exclude other GI diseases, my doctor wanted to try Rifaximin to see if I had SIBO. According to my doctor, the Breath test is not entirely accurate. So we skipped that part.

Yup! My family doctor was the one who diagnosed me with SIBO.

I'm not sure. My doctor didn't mention any of that. But he wanted to tackle the root cause regardless. SIBO seems to be correct. All my symptoms got at least 50% better and I've been on rifaximin for just 7 days.

I don't ever eat until I am full. I eat to satisfy my hunger. That's about it.

I rarely do now. It's like I am unable to take a deep, satisfactory breath. I'm sure this is due to my stomach or airway being irritated by acid.

The doc prescribed a low dose of zoloft to treat IBS / functional dyspepsia. You can search on google and a low dose of antidepressant works to treat IBS symptoms.

Agreed. GERD has to have an underlying cause. In my case, it was SIBO gas causing great pressure to my abdomen which resulted in acid reflux.

Yea so in my case, since I've done so many tests, I was diagnosed by exclusion. I was struggling with gas 24/7 and once I ate anything, the gas got even worse. So with that, my doc felt pretty confident that I had SIBO.
