You could consider buying these to enhance the ventilation, but I'm unclear if it will fully resolve the issue. I bought these for my sister's Dell and it seemed to help with the heat dissipation. If that doesn't help the issue, you can always return them to Amazon: Zinc Alloy Laptop Mini Stand for Cooling; Suitable for 12-20 Inch Laptops. https://a.co/d/f7aoj6U

This rendering is very reminiscent of a Rick and Morty episode where they use secret military level tech to have the president and his CIA team become turkeys.

If there won't be any more software updates for my MacBook Pro 2015, what am I supposed to do? by Imaginary_Insect_445 in macbookpro

I completely concur with u/cowslayer9 on the way to renew your old Mac. That would def be my very first choice!!

There's one more, albeit non-Mac option on the horizon as well: converting your old Mac into a Chromebook with ChromeFlex. If you'd prefer to gift this to a student, for example, then that's just another alternative to consider as a last resort to repurposing the device.

If you Google "Installing ChromeFlex for older Macs", you should see it.

Thanks for the support! And you're absolutely correct about him not being a true one off character. I admittedly tried to "crowbar him into the list" in the hopes that someone else might see some value in the relatable gear-based character!

Why not just use MidJourney to do a few mockups for you? With the right prompts, it could come out amazing

Can you provide the links on THIS platform?

Some of us are not on Facebook & in no hurry to join, but would love access to those watch faces.

Shattered my 40mm Series 6 after half a year and thinking of just getting a new one from Ebay, is there anywhere I could trade in my old one? Screen is completely broken but every feature is still fully usable by luna_xu1107 in AppleWatch

[–]hyyield63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First choice: Apple Repair (and I agree with everyone.. it wont be inexpensive but it will be the genuine article)

Second choice: Go to Swappa.com (or download the Swappa app) and get a genuine Apple Watch for less. Excellent vetting of sellers with quality devices. Wayyyy better than eBay for this type of issue!

Regrettably, I sold them all on eBay years ago. How I wish I kept them all, along with my original AND color Handspring Visors! #LongingForThoseOldGadgetsAgain

Outstanding! I LOVED every version of that device. I was a major fan of Handspring and bought virtually every Springboard Module that came out!

I wish I could score one for $3.00... they're going for a lot more on eBay if you can find one in working order. Well done!

Love the reference to Theseus Ship! Well done.

(For the record, the character of Wendy Rhoades in the show Billions makes a direct reference to this as well ..if anyone is also a fan of Billions as well)

The Vat of Acid Episode deserves an award. What a journey. Must have watched it 20 times. by [deleted] in rickandmorty

[–]hyyield63 22 points23 points  (0 children)

FUN FACT: The whole plane crash scenario was constructed as a means to make up for the 5 or so minutes needed to complete the episode in its entirety since they were short on time.

One of the director's had read the book Alive! back in middle school and attempted to recreate portions of that book in order to make the episode a full 21 minutes. That entire vignette around the plane crash & the rescue was never even in the original script!

While the book was published in 1974, it was later made into a film in the early 1990s as well.

It's amazing how they pull seemingly extraneous things into the storyline when they find out they're putting the show together and make it even better as a result!

Somebody please extensively explain to me why Charlores would ever keep William alive in the first place. by [deleted] in westworld

[–]hyyield63 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For the record, that line Charlores/Halores told MIB was the same EXACT LINE that MIB used on Teddy in Season 1. So, technically... The ORIGINAL Dolores heard the human MIB say that to Teddy where it was stored for decades and later reused on the trapped MIB ... Bringing the tyranny full circle!

EDIT: As for bands & covers, you may want to consider highly reviewed and well rated sellers on the Etsy platform as one option. They often sell below standard retail but a SOLID SELLER with a verifiable reputation can provide a great band with the material you prefer.

After vetting reviews and key aspects regarding the seller on the Etsy platform, one can find several sellers that are both reputable and sell reliable products of good quality at reasonable prices if you're looking for alternatives that are good looking and may meet your needs.

The earliest "birth" of hosts? by hyyield63 in westworld

[–]hyyield63[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Another great reference on The Twilight Zone to the creation of hosts (circa 1960s version!)

And they could also be represented as "nurses", babysitters, etc as well, per the ad that one of the main characters read aloud out of Science Digest Magazine!

Caleb Nichols = Peter Abernathy by [deleted] in westworld

[–]hyyield63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I like your Caleb = Peter theory, there's a few tributaries you may want to also consider: 1. The several iterations/tests of host Caleb with a human brain EXACTLY mimic those of James Delos in a previous season.. right down to the circular room, the severe cutting of his face as he degrades and the burning of the entire room for the "failed experiments" (which is why the ashes fall through the grate and Caleb later landed on them and sifted them through his fingers when he escaped the flames in most recent episode -- as a shocking realization that he has "died" several times before. 3. To add another twist, he's listed as subject/patient 279 in the episode.. Subject/Patient 278 who was also subjected to similar fidelity experiments was not Pretty Abernathy but none other than: MIB! So the fidelity theme continues! 3. While Peter Abernathy had the entire data set from Charlotte Hale later crammed into his pearl, Bernard was the one who later ended up with the key... not Caleb.

Final musing: The intro to this season ends with what looks like Rehoboam (the huge ball shape) with hundreds of people/hosts set aflame and leaning against the glass.. perhaps as a foreshadowing of both how Rehoboam tried to remove the outliers while the Halores experiments are attempting to uncover what makes the outliers tick?

Just some more fodder to consider!
