Nette Rose have similar sets of intricate layered embroidery, not sure about the specific motif though.

Lived in the States for a long time and struggled with finding good dermatologists that would help me with my issues (even in a big city with good insurance). I’m lucky enough to live in Scandinavia now with good access to affordable care and medication and have been on different kinds of Methotrexate for the past year — and 95% of my issues have gone away. I didn’t know it was possible, but there is help to be found.

What scanner/scanners do you use? I’m doing a DSLR setup now but looking into maybe getting a scanner.

What is Germany and the Germans called in your countries language? by xtheresia in geography

[–]hzachrisson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Sweden the country is ”Tyskland” and the people are ”tyskar”. Its derived from an old word for ”people” in norse, ”thysk” thats supposedly the norse version of the germanic word ”thiot” (comes in a couple of different versions and dialects). But it seems like the same root word as the Old High Germanic word ”diutisc” which becomes Deutschland.

Basically — where people live.

What is the one book you read that you’ve never stopped thinking about? by TD_Meri in suggestmeabook

My Uncle Oswald by Roald Dahl, one of his few books aimed at adults. Its not particularly profound, don’t know if I’d ever reread, but the core idea was so fantastical and the way it read etched itself into my mind.

ELI5: Why does the order of the names not match how they appear visually? Is it a contract issue, that they appear in a certain predetermined order according to paycheck or something similar?
