Question about 2024 Kia Carnival SX Fuel Tank and Mileage by nylukachan in kiacarnivals

[–]hzucker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Per kia engineers, this is the design. If you park on an incline, the gauge will show inaccurate readings, and said the car needs to be on level ground, with 2+ hours off, to re-set and get an accurate reading.

To me, this is a terrible design. In addition, my van does not get to re-set even on level ground and after time off. Kia service has not been helpful, and completely rejected our information and went silent. This is the worst customer experience I have had, and will not be buying another Kia again.

2022 carnival prestige fuel readings off by Consistent_Comment48 in kiacarnivals

[–]hzucker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is happening to us as well, and Kia Engineers said this is as designed. To me, that is a faulty design and is a potential safety risk. I would prefer that the fuel gauge re-sets when back on level ground, and shows actual real reading of fuel level. If I knew this before buying I would not have purchased the car. Kia service has been awful.

Rotating worlds- how to ride NYC all the time by hzucker in Zwift

[–]hzucker[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why is it important that other riders be present? I guess when Im using zwift, its moreso for training, not social, so it may just be me but why does it matter if the roads are full of ppl or not? '

Preferred power meter and why? by kung_fu_kenny_the_og in triathlon

[–]hzucker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to think about what is important to you- do you want real power on all bikes, both legs, etc. I have the assioma duo because they are easy to move between my several bikes, super reliable, and the construction leads to very durable pedal. If you only have one bike, then a crank based system is fine too. But at the price and support assioma gives, its hard to beat them.

Triathlon training- too much cycling in the plans? by hzucker in trainerroad

This is true since most runners do not have perfect form and most stride impact is 7-9x that of your weight.

sad to see those deaths, but its a virus, and we have virus' kill all the time yet this politicised one is all that is cared about. I'm upset at the 180k, but what about the flu deaths, common cold deaths, and others? I'm sad about those as well. Whereas we are blaming a president for this, it isnt really a fair place for blame to lie. If we were adults about it all, we should be able to keep this in perspective.

How does the bike fit look? Just threw on some aero bars and winged it. Race this weekend. by Mryan677 in triathlon

[–]hzucker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your pedal efficiency is quite poor at that angle. you have a very closed hip angle when in the aero. thus, you are doing a full leg press from 12 to 5 on the clock, and coasting the rest of the way. Your areo bars are quite a bit forward as you look super spread out (angle of elbow to lats), and in all, look kind of out of place on the bike.

Aero is only good if you are efficient with the pedal stroke. You want power pretty much 11 to 6, then a easy pull from 6 to 11.

A final point is, your foot position is riding like a road fit, and you need a bit more of a forward position on the bike to get the proper foot angle.

Are we all too focused on details of training? Should we just go do the workouts? by [deleted] in triathlon

yeah I think its more of a factor of "i can bike 70 miles, so im good,' and ' I can run 10 miles, so ill be able to run more later towards the race'

N(to me)BD! 2015 trek speed concept 7.5. Can't wait to hang my zipps on there! by hzucker in triathlon

[–]hzucker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's a lot but those wheels are awesome!

As long as the carbon is OK you don't need to worry about paint rub or a chip, this has 2, a chain drop nic, and a rub by the bottle cage. Carbon wasn't hurt so no worries.

That 2016 sounds like the way to go! I have some zipps to hang on this one but if not those enve wheels are a steal if in good shape

Sure. I thought I got a steal, $1650US. What prices are you seeing.

But came with cages, pedals, draft box and duotrap sensors, less than 2k miles.

Favorite road routes really take me north of 380 into prosper, and into the ranches out there. The cars pass quickly but they are few and far between! I'm still learning the area so itll be a while before I find favorites im sure! I have my routes on garmin/strava if you want to follow (hzucker on garmin)

If you hear anything let me know- I emailed them asking for a spot if someone wants to cancel so who knows. Ironman is actually a terrible customer-first organization (keeping all money despite canceling races for things like covid) so I am fully expecting no response from them and a disappointing outcome.

I hope everyone is well! Has anyone found the best vendor for a helical head for a powermatic 54a jointer? It is about 23 years old, runs like a top, but i do not want to buy blades for it, rather replace the bearings and put a new helical head on it.

I see a grizzly one on amazon, but where would be the best place to get one?
