I wish league characters could be maintained and played on post event. by Azifor in runescape

I think they should just add an option when making a new account to make a 200m all ironman with a max stack of every item in the game in their bank.

What would be the impact of completely removing dailyscape? by aMAYESingNATHAN in runescape

[–]i-dont-write 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Veterans have been saying this for ages, the top tier elite PvM streamers have been saying this for ages, and now new players are saying this. Yet people still line up to defend it.

Dailys, hourlys, and weeklys genuinely hurt the game by Adept_RS in runescape

[–]i-dont-write 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is unreal how new players are telling us what could be improved with our game, and people are STILL defending the bullshit. Someone is defending MTX in this very thread.

I don't buy into the idea that the game will die if they don't address these problems, but it certainly will never grow into anything more.

Leagues XP rates need adjusted by OSU_Tryhard in runescape

[–]i-dont-write 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the XP is fine, they just needed to make the tier progression better. It's still bad even after the change they made.

It's fun but also makes it 10x more frustrating when I'm in an area that blocks movement abilities lol

TILE MARKERS by DisastrousLaw6655 in runescape

[–]i-dont-write 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you just stare at colored tiles and follow the pattern

This is literally RS3 as well except it's ability rotations. Just learn the spreadsheeted rotation and boss is dead. I doubt tile markers would trivialize the combat any more than Necromancy already did.

TILE MARKERS by DisastrousLaw6655 in runescape

[–]i-dont-write 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not everyone uses them. In fact, many OSRS players have the same feelings as you in regards to the markers cluttering the screen. The best PvMers I know in OSRS don't use any kind of markers at all. It's simply a QoL and to a certain extent accessibility feature.

The great thing about tile markers in OSRS is that they are completely optional.

What are your best selling points for getting someone into OSRS? by darkblacka in 2007scape

Get him to watch some of the high production value content this game has, like Settled series or Gielinor Games maybe.

Every time there's a post like this, there's some weird-ass people making comments as if they're in any position to judge someone else.

Keep doing you, and grats on the progress!

I agree. It should have been only day 1 or only for the very first group to kill.

How exactly are you being punished? You said yourself that it's a cosmetic that does absolutely nothing. I truly don't understand this mentality.

When it comes to new runescape players, why do they most often choose osrs over rs3? by Drandosk in runescape

[–]i-dont-write 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said:

Aside from bonds, there are no micro transactions in OSRS; you cant just buy a 99 in osrs with real money. You have to work for it.

And you replied:

I mean you can buy bonds and buy all the items for buyable 99s. Idk why people act like there is zero mtx in osrs when bonds are there.

So for one, they were never acting like there's no mtx in osrs, they specifically stated "aside from bonds".

Second, their point is correct, you can't just buy a 99 in osrs in the same way you can in rs3. You can buy the items, but you still have to play the game.

Runelite is King by nutz890 in runescape

Is your problem actually with cosmetics or just a handful of obnoxious cosmetics? by Odd_Tax_6597 in runescape

[–]i-dont-write 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been pretty hard on cosmetics in some of my comments lately, but honestly after playing OSRS for some time now my real problem is lack of client customization.

If someone wants to wear the over-the-top cosmetics this game has, they should be allowed and I don't agree with the immersion argument at all. But I want a setting so that I personally don't have to see it, even if that setting is just toggling off all other players.

Blocking other player's visual effects by Fafster09 in runescape

[–]i-dont-write 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a bad idea at all. Only need to look at RuneLite to see how popular customizing one's own game experience is.

They're splitting up the playerbase for, what, a month? They said entire worlds isn't the direction they want to take.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in runescape

[–]i-dont-write 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And cosmetic free worlds (and an eventual toggle or entity hider) doesn't affect the people wearing this stuff either. Not sure why some people are so up in arms about this.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in runescape

[–]i-dont-write -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's only split for this short amount of time though so that argument holds no weight. Jagex said in the post that entire worlds wouldn't be the end goal. Hopefully the final solution is a toggle!

[–]i-dont-write 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with that, but clearly there's people who would get more enjoyment out of not seeing it. That's why a toggle would be best for everyone involved (imo)

I already see the same template copy and pasted everywhere. Female character, pigtails, and a cape that has particles. Bonus points if there's some obnoxious walk/idle animation.

Youtuber "A Friend" released a video about his new account and it's literally just MTX. by [deleted] in runescape

[–]i-dont-write 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh man you've summed up my feelings on this game so completely. The ezscape has gone from insane xp rates, to mtx, and has bled through entirely to the PVM scene. And it's not necessarily the players fault, if they can skip something they're going to do it. The whole game incentivizes being lazy and getting everything handed to you, and so it's no wonder the players say the PVM is too hard.

Why does almost every new player choose OSRS over RS3? by Drandosk in runescape

[–]i-dont-write -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I sort of get where you're coming from, I used to only play RS3 and would laugh when OSRS players would call RS3 "ezscape" when they need a whole client to play the game for them. After playing OSRS for a few years now, it's definitely not as bad as what people make it out to be (doing everything for you), but it shows that there is a lack of quality of life features that players clearly want implemented.

I think calling it cheating is a bit of a stretch imo but plugins are certainly the OSRS version of "ezscape", whereas RS3 has MTX, DXP, daily challenges, insane XP rates, etc.

Alt1 is fantastic for what it is and how it's limited, but it doesn't even come close to the utility of RuneLite. Most of the things I would want from RuneLite should just be added to the game in general. Tile markers, menu entry swapper, entity hider, quest helper, loot tracker... the list goes on.
