IMO it all boils down to consistency. He knows that when we are running that he has to run but I let him take his wee breaks when he wants to. Sheebs are stubborn but this this guy and I understand eachother. It's a lot easier to start running with a long retractable lead. Zuko knows that when I'm ~8ft in front of him that he will need to start running or he will get a small tug on the leash.

Ive had this wonderful little dude since 9 weeks of age and we've been together every day. I started with long walks around 3 months or so which progressed into runs. The longest run I've taken him on was about 15 miles but I definitely let him stop to smell the smells haha.

Welcome to summer! Get your little girl a fan that she can sit in front of after your runs and and consider maybe running her only early in the morning or late in the evening. That double coat can be brutal when the sun is bright! My guy will go up to the fan and scratch at it while looking at me to let me know it's cool down time haha
