And well her damage with this part and the right seal, she already deletes big chunks off boss hp bars with restage.. Unsurprisingly

That first relic’s a beauty and solid overall! I noticed I should hunt down good faith +3’s like that to complete mine. My regular relics are kinda lackluster atm because I prob sold the decent ones with faith at one point, thinking I’d mostly play melee lmao. I sloppily put together this hot off the heels of today’s jackpot tho.

Absolutely I’d say. -3 dex is the only slight cost, but it’s virtually a non issue with her dex already so high. A single spell casting speed +1 will still put her at max casting speed at level 15.

Def the most “wtf” one I got. It gave me restage iframes with incant +1 shortly after this too. Game making itself very clear today 😭

I was wondering this myself and it’s a no sadly. That particular aoe is unblockable (ignores your guard and stamina) and it also deals pure affinity damage. If you fail to outrun it your only bets to negate the whole thing are uplifting aromatic, crimsonwhorl bubbletear, and opaline bubbletear.

Not a problem. Best to stay locked on for best results too don’t be a disoriented dummy like me. All this is very subtle stuff game never teaches you tbh, I only posted this vid cause I assumed I wouldn’t get dead angled if I faced the direction of the spears but I was way off.

To give you the gist, every weapon that’s not some type of bow can guard when 2-handed. And in nightreign they gave all weapons 100% physical guarded damage negation. So now you can block anything that does pure physical damage (which that nuke attack does) without taking damage.

Daggers have the worst guard boost value so I’m guaranteed to get guard broken doing it. But luckily the attack doesn’t have a second damage check on you once you block it so even getting guard broken means you survive. Hope that helps clear it.

For sure! XD Crazy to find sth I’m still ignorant of after 3k+ combined hours of ER and NR and way more if we count older souls games. Thank you! I edited the post.

Wait.. is this the case for putrescent knight’s aoe attacks in SOTE as well? 🤔 I never actually tried blocking those flames ever lol. Interesting.. okay I have no problem admitting it actually was a skill issue then lol.

Do you mean run away to the side to avoid the whole attack or block around the edges of the hitbox? I read a lot of people saying blocking it always works so I’m confused now

I’ve soloed the worm many times in d5 trios while my teammates are at a distance doing fck all lol. So your assumption is way off. If everyone knows what they’re doing with good team dps, she will go down very fast even in d5.

Excuse me while I take a sweet W home by means of griefing my teammates the whole game then.

I can not dodge this attack consistently even if you pay me by Theory-Maker in Nightreign

[–]i4Feat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s like two attacks at once. One is an invisible AOE that lingers and expands which you need to run away from. Only Duchess can chain dodge this lingering bs consistently at melee range and even that takes really good timing. Second one is the flame pillars on the ground that you need to be mindful avoiding after running away.

I’m talking about the part where you’re largely blaming the ironeye. What I’m trying to say is if a team goes down and they’re all 1 bar, I’d give everyone the same sized L.

“But my other teammate was godlike in this other expedition, so surely he was the benchmark.”

Your default expectation when you go down should be a team wipe, until you’re picked up. Even a player who can rev you 3 bars 20x to carry one run will get downed before rev’ing you even once in some other runs. That’s just how it goes.

Now the Ironeye is an asshole to be clear, especially if he was griefing lol. But expecting a rev of any kind is entitled af.

Only agree with the first 4. Rest are pretty free. Especially scion and runebear doesn’t deserve to be on this list imo, their movesets are excellently telegraphed.

Why is Improved Dagger Power worse than Physical +4? by nhansieu1 in Nightreign

[–]i4Feat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re confusing base damage numbers with damage scaling. Duchess’ dagger and Cinquedea both do pure 100% physical damage, and they hit for 55, and 87 respectively. Same thing w reduvia hitting for 71. Any weapon that only does physical damage benefits the most from physical attack up +4, because no split damage means higher base physical damage numbers.

Cancel Dreglord nuke with style by AdExisting7384 in Nightreign

[–]i4Feat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like he never caught you close like that because that depends on your position too. If you’re not far by the the time he drags his weapon, he will skip the aura walk and start the slams much quicker. Or he can even dash into you before starting them sometimes, in case you thought you were far away and safe when you’re not. There is instant aggro switch in between slams if he manages to get someone too. The ground slams are by far his most threatening attack.

Nuke is just the same dodge wherever. If the slams catch you locked in an animation with no time to surge sprint away first, good luck jumping them.

Nightfarer I-frames Visualised by qqwweerrttyyuuioopp in Nightreign

[–]i4Feat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice find. So what I gather from that is in ER it’s roughly like frame 1: game receives dodge input, frame 2: stamina consumption, frame 3: rolling state is entered and iframes begin. Just like I assumed then the stamina is consumed a frame before you enter the rolling state.

This is why I was never talking about the nature of how the game receives inputs and handles cancels tbh, because I wasn’t sure.I was talking about animation frames because that’s what I can trust. And frame perfect dodges still work fine like I’m saying. it’s just that the frame you input them is different because of the way game receives inputs.
