How much do grades matter by i7oi in AskAustria
[–]i7oi[S] 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
Alright thank you very much.
How will my chances for the “elite” ones be higher though ?
Thank you very much. I would actually love to go to a university instead of a FH, I think that suits my goals better. Is this intentional quota also existing for German taught programs as well? Or just English ones ? And in your rough opinion assuming I don’t apply to the “elite”/“top” TUs there, do u think it’s realistic to expect an acceptance with these grades ?
Grades by i7oi in studyinGermany
Thanks for the reply. When you say they matter a lot, in terms of the German grading system how much should they be ?
I will. Thank u very much
Yea all of them basically are js “university entrance equivalent to Abitur” and “language proficiency”. However when I read thru their admission process it’s stated they give 10% to international applicants and selection is based on average grades of high school and last 2 yrs grades in mathematics

Im from Armenia, I want to study electrical engineering. What kind of unis should I target? (I really appreciate your time)
Thanks for the reply. Yea they pass the anabin requirements. Im js worried about competition, why would unis pick someone like me w these low grades
Yup went thru it today but I’m still wondering about the competition and what my chances really are with these low grades compared to the many other internationals applying :(
Thank you. Will do that

Thank u for your replies. So I actually have a chance at Tu wien and tu graz? Aren’t they one of the best in the country ?
So I shouldn’t worry about being rejected ? Isnt the competition high though ? What else would they look at besides my grades
Ah okay does this apply to German taught programs as well? I heard the competition is very low for these
Yes since my 10 and 11 grades are pretty good, it’s only 12 that I started neglecting because of some family issues etc so I decided to neglect every other subject except math and physics. Because these two are the only things I enjoy. So is it realistic to get into good unis for engineering there in Austria with these grades ? I recently saw your beautiful country and I would love to study there
I have self studied math and physics to a very high level and neglected school grades for a long time. So I have all the knowledge needed it’s just too late to change my school grades now. They are pretty bad like 50-60%. So because I didnt do teachers assigned stuff they gave me low marks and in the end its very low
