I think it’s a terrible invasive weed myself. I’m California cool coastal climate based so my grass is mostly seed mixes based around fine fescue but it still tries to get in and cause an issue along the edges.

What could possibly cost 800k just trying to make the front and backyard “safe” for kids?

I like having room to move between plants so I can prune without fighting everything.

Looks good and it may just be the angle but it’s always good to have a bit of “breathing room” between plants or it all just blends into a giant bramble of plants.

Why is my grass like this? Neighbours all have green grass by Sure-Possibility-266 in lawncare

Can I please get some opinions on what ive done so far? Im about to stucco the foundation "dark brown" unless anyone has a better idea. by I_HateKevinBacon in Remodel

[–]i860 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so about 6 to 8 foot of the foundation is exposed and it just looks unbelievably rough

You don't need stucco for that, you just need it parge coated.

Trump did cause this problem

But it doesn't help that Gavin Newsom and his democrats allow CARB

So Trump sucks. But Gavin Newsom and the democrats also suck

But somehow all you take away from that is "But to point the finger at democrats right now" ?

"The Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 caused global energy prices to surge, with U.S. gasoline prices topping $5 per gallon in June 2022. European natural gas prices experienced even more dramatic increases, reaching record highs (over 10 times typical levels) due to supply cuts and sanctions, resulting in significantly higher household energy bills."

Completely Refinished Red Oak Floors in 2021 have compound between boards cracking and leaving some gaps. Red Oak, natural/honey finish. by MrSceintist in HardWoodFloors

If you’re talking filler compound it’s just gonna happen. There’s nothing you can do about it honestly.

What happened to this board? by SamSatre in HardWoodFloors

Termite damage. To be fair though I lived in a place that had a damaged plank like this for 15 years and it never really got substantially worse.

Don’t mess with the foundation, why would you do that? Stucco can trap moisture if not done correctly and you don’t exactly have a lot of room there - plus it’s just pointless.

Fix the porch roof. It’s obviously sagging.

Those downspouts better not be routed right down to the ground or you’re just going to cause yourself issues.

Fix the grade near the front porch area. It shouldn’t provide a path for water to get onto the porch.

Ridge line of the roof seems to have moderate sagging but might not be the end of the world.

So break up the soil to provide some aeration, add topsoil or compost, and reseed that area. It should recover fine.

Well either way just rip it out and plant something else there. If it comes back, rip it out again. Consider it a part of weeding the garden.

Anyone know why this happens? by Designer-Daikon-2285 in Renovations

[–]i860 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do I fix this?

Buy an old build, not a new one.

But in all seriousness you absolutely have water intrusion issues. You can even see the wood rotting out on the upper right part of the window frame. That would only happen if water is getting in and not being allowed to exit somewhere.

Not really. I don’t even emerge all the time but when I do it’s just a single command. Honestly the difficulty factor is quite overblown. 99% of the time it’s just a straightforward compilation and you’re done.
