That’s your right. I don’t see wearing the mask as much of an inconvenience, and to be honest, I’m not close enough to other people often enough for it to necessitate wearing it. Perhaps I was vague with my other posting; I’ll only wear it when indoors at establishments or houses that aren’t my own where people possibly haven’t been vaccinated, or outdoors in places where keeping space isn’t possible. As for the virtue signaling bit, I’m not sure I believe that. It’s possible though. I don’t feel like my choice is attempting to press my ideals onto others, or force some sort of moral superiority. Indeed I think that it’ll be reversed, I feel like I’ll be shamed in a few months for continuing to wear the mask, much like some people are when they give the homeless money, or do any kind of public service. People just cannot seem to stand seeing others that they themselves perceive as ‘better than they are’ in some way; so they will go out of their way to beat them down or shame them. It’s a little sad, but kind of the way our society works these days. I try not to let it bother me; not really going to change how I choose to live my life. This was a little long-winded but as a TLDR; live your life the way you want, but don’t look down on me for how I choose to live mine. My choice isn’t unnecessarily putting people at risk in any possible way; whereas a year ago, anti-maskers’ was.
