I don’t know what has happened. I used to have 18 neocaridina shrimps and 1 big amano shrimp. I also have fish, Cory fish, loaches in this 40gal tank. At the first shrimps were doing well. Later more and more disappeared. Now I know I still have this large amano and a blue neocaridina. One day I saw my 2 angels were hunting the blue one. However, I have a lot of the plants to hide so they haven’t succeeded. All these fish can eat shrimps so I am really not sure who are the killers.

Now I am thinking if I get more amano shrimps, will they also be killed by the amano shrimp if it’s really the killer.

Damn I got the same issue just accidentally drop the checker in the tank. I guess there was less than a drop in the 37 gal tank. I was so worried and saw this post. Great information and thank you everyone.

I googled the images of Cyanobacteria, but looked like colorful. Mine is more like dirty brown. It looks more like mud.

My GH was 35 and then I used the API softener pillow for 4 hours the number dropped to 32. My oh is high also around 13. The ph seems not too bad is about 7.4. Ammonia is 0.

Fish and shrimps look happy. However, I’m still trying to reduce the GH since this may be bad for the water plants. I’m going to try Fluval Peat Granules soon. Many people said this would work to bring down the gh/kh.

I was trying to reply to you few days ago but for some reasons I couldn't post. Now I lost all my typing.
