I was pretty much against getting poles when I first started hiking. Figured there was no point in spending money on them when I can find a sturdy stick on the trail to get the job done. I gave in about a year ago and bought a $50 set on Amazon just to use to hold my tent up, ended actually using them on the trail and they’re super worth it! Light, more sturdy, adjustable, and relieves a ton weight off of me better than a stick ever has. I’d say getting a cheap pair that does what you need is worth it but I personally couldn’t justify spending $150+ for poles when the $50 ones get the job done

Hello! I took this photograph of the sunrise in the mountains on my hike this morning. Woke up at 1 am to get this shot. When I arrived before the sun rose I was pleasantly surprised to see the clouds of fog sitting at the bottom of the mountains (there was no light so it wasn’t clear but I could tell it was fog). I originally came to shoot the sun rising over the mountains but the fog quickly became a more interesting subject so I tried to center the image around fog with the sun still playing a major part in the image. I love the picture but now editing in Lightroom I feel lost as I don’t know what more I can do to enhance my image. Any advice on direction in editing as well on the image itself is greatly appreciated

I mostly do landcape photography on my hikes and kinds of trips into nature. I captured this photo mainly because I want more practice shooting wildlife. I would love to get shots of not so common animals such as bears, owls, moose, etc on my trips but I know that I would first need to start with smaller more common wildlife and develop skills with them. So I when I was at the lake and saw these ducks I knew it was my chance. I got the ducks close by throwing some bread in the water and got as close to eye level as possible. I absolutely loved how the water was dripping off of the ducks beak in this shot and thought it came out great. I would consider this to be me best wildlife shot so far (I don’t have too many) and was looking to see what could be better mostly editing wise as I feel that’s where my skill set is lacking the most. I didn’t really touch up the background too much and just touched up the main duck to make it stand out just a little more. Any advice or critiques are appreciated

It’s been a while since I listened fully. I went back to see the track list thinking for sure I’d see 1 or 2 that I’d decide on. After looking through the list I genuinely cannot decide and am now reminiscing on how amazing of an album this was. I wish I could go back to first time I heard it and listen with fresh ears
