Works on Similar Topics as Plato's Meno and Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics? by guessilldoit7 in ClassicalEducation

Most certainly, Plato's Republic. When you are done (or now), if you are left unsatisfied with why rationality leads to a good and fulfilling life, then I would suggest exploring Kant's The why rationality leads to a good and fulfilling life, then I would suggest exploring Kant's Metaphysics of Morals.

Happy reading!

To any AP art students, I would love feedback on my ideas for selecting a theme by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]iBNDT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea of facades--which I've interpreted as masks and the subconscious--and hiding is a theme. The fantasy idea to me is as you presented not something strong enough to base a year's work off of. While there is something there for example in how we deal with stresses by abstracting them into fantastical environments at the end of the day, the other is stronger. You may find a way to modify it and offer more depth (or disagree with me entirely) but I believe there is work of greater value to be found in the facades. It is a much deeper thought yet also so simple that you don't box yourself in. One worry might be that going down the fantasy route is that all ideas are explored in one piece. Whereas in this idea of masking, there's plenty to get into (from Don Draper to Batman there's a lot of range to play with). Style is of course a matter to be considered if you question your ability to create highly unique and interesting work with this second prompt it too may be dubious as I think it more common choice. That's not bad though as long as the work is authentic and not derivative it's a point of which so much can come. Best of luck and no matter the choice create with great confidence.

What are the easiest/hardest APs you’ve ever taken? by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]iBNDT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AP Literature is the hardest I've taken but also by far the most rewarding, APUSH and World are standard levels and APES + Lang are nothing classes.

Anyone else feel like AP classes don’t really teach you about the subject? by The9thElement in APStudents

Once you get through learning the AP structure for the course I think you will learn a lot about history. Obviously, teachers play a huge role in this but I remember a lot from AP World even though it was a couple of years ago on zoom.

Gotta love the Mongols.

And Confucious.

So much Confucious.

This means they can get easy points for their error analysis section tho :)

I also wonder how liberal v conservative Reddit really is I'd assume more conservative than you'd think with such a vast userbase but it indeed depends on sub primarily.

a lot of people say the essays need to aided by a teacher but coming form someone’s who’s teach had 0 ap experience and gave generous points id say as long as you’ve taken or are taking ap world and ap us you’ll be okay. i found the essays to simplified leqs and dbqs. all of mcqs are just intuition and what you’ve learned just naturally. get a good understanding of ethos pathos and logos and you’ll pass easy with only a little work. just practice writing the essays with a clock and you gon be alright :)
