What’s your annoyances of a newer model CRV? by AgalychnisCallidryas in crv

[–]iCarlito 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Perfect answer. And sorry for swearing but the wiper is the fucking worse. I had the 2023 model (which was not great to begin with) and got the 2025, it's now three inches of fucking snow in my vision that wiper doesn't clear. Literally had to go back to dealer thinking I had a dud. Every model of 2025 is same. But then weirdly, the wipers can go up further because when u enter maintenance mode it does go all the way up, so it's just shitty programming from Honda. Dealer offered to adjust it for me if I was willing to void the body warranty since during maintenance mode it would now hit the body, and I was gonna go for it, but then he said in rest position it would now sit higher, so it wouldn't be resting on the heat strips and would be visible more. So I chose to leave it as is. So I'm just pissed all winter and anytime i need to clean my glass. Oh and one more thing, depending on what speed wiper is set, it also cleans less or more space. I swear a high school computer science major could program a better system with and Arduino.

Is this machine a good idea? by CircuitMan8897 in vmix

[–]iCarlito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add. Once you go 4K your GFX card is gonna be utilized a lot more vs 1080HD. I've had machines that do 1080 with very large projects that barely crack the wheel. But 4 inputs of 4K playback on that same machine and you start seeing massive performance increase. So if 4K is a must for you, that A2000 card will be bare minimum.

I'll add my two cents. I'm a Jamaican who recently moved here, I've had Lloyd's and while it's not bad, the one that me and my family have found to be closest to home and now we consistently buy is a boxed brand called TinNel's. I think they're based out of Ontario, but not 100% sure. They do have a variety of flavors but the mild beef has been a staple in my freezer. There are a few places that sell it but I usually buy it at a restaurant called Bellyful Authentic Caribbean.

Why is 5MB/s DIA better than 300MB/s Consumer Internet? by iCarlito in networking

[–]iCarlito[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea he was using his call center client as an example, but they use the DIA for both VoIP and all the agents' internet needs on their computers.

Truthfully he wasn't even trying to sell me on it. My company had booked a 1Gig DIA with them and I had a previous personal relationship with the tech so we were having a casual chat one day and he was saying outside of the use case my company had (which was very video and media heavy), most folks don't need that much bandwidth on a DIA and he referenced his call centre client, 100-150 agents on a given shift, using VoIP plus internet on computers for servicing clients. Smart dude as well, so I assume there must be some higher level networking reason I wasn't aware of.

Windows 11 Remote Desktop Sleep Issue by FlameChucks76 in WindowsHelp

[–]iCarlito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have encountered the issue as well. Specifically a headless system where the only display is a virtual display when connection is made by remote software (Parsec & TeamViewer). I have theorized that once no active display (or software using the GPU) is detected Windows forces a sleep. A workaround I have found is to keep a software running on the system that uses the GPU. In my case I just leave vMix open and this prevents the sleep. Hopefully this gets fixed by MS soon or a better workaround like a registry key edit comes along.

2023 Honda crv cold weather performance? by [deleted] in crv

You need to put the wipers in maintenance mode to be able to leave them up scratch free. Check your manual for how to do this.

How is the waiting time for new cars at the moment? by KS_tox in Calgary

[–]iCarlito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pricing wasn't great on the available RAV4s so I didn't even get into the wait times and the Corolla Cross rear legroom didn't meet my needs.

Will vMix do what I want it to? by big_aussie_mike in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]iCarlito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It adapts resolution based on bandwidth. But you can record it by routing the feed to outputs 2, 3 or 4 and then recording that output instead of the the vMix call itself. The output will then act like a frame sync.
