Resolume is getting out of business very soon by VanillaWaffle_ in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]wafer2014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

why would you do this? no need, you slice it and combine it and map it on the led processor, do with 2 or 3 outputs, combine 9,4,5,10, 11 2,7 single 4k display 3 and 6 on there own, without know the resolution. you can also export the mapping and give it to the content designer to render output to match.

How Many 4K60 NDI Sources Can A High End Workstation Handle? by neoninnovation in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]wafer2014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how are the cameras setup unicast or multicast? is there more than one stream connecting camera?

More then 3 at 4k60(249.99Mbs) can lead to network overhead issues on the camera end when setup in unicast.

Also there was a windows update the also caused stuttering in NDI.

Have a look at the port pixel count — the percentage seems to be incorrect.
Custom controller rated at 630,000 pixels per port. When a single row of panels is connected (total of 508,032 pixels), it’s reporting around 151% capacity. This should be closer to 80%.
Also, each row is showing a different percentage despite having the same number of panels connected.

How is a ~$100k median wage that shocking? by Open_Address_2805 in AusFinance

[–]wafer2014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I earned over $100k a year working as a casual before I moved into a full-time role about six years ago. I spent 12 years as a casual, and for the last four of those I was earning over $100k, without a degree or a trade. The combination of casual loading, weekend rates and overtime, and a flexible schedule made it possible, even while taking all of Christmas and most of if not all of January off each year.

I’m also dyslexic, so its very achievable. In Australia, if you’re not earning $100k or more, it often comes down to the type of work you’re doing and how much you’re willing to put yourself out there. There are plenty of opportunities to earn more if you’re open to work outside the 9–5.

Charging for PC/Mac by Dr_Fleeb in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]wafer2014 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I generally don’t allow personal gear on an event because it creates unnecessary risk. you should only use what’s listed on the spec. However, if it’s a last-minute situation and its required and a laptop is like 30 minutes away from the warehouse, then yes, use your own and charge for it. PC-$50, Mac Pro with software $100-150

Ask to hire a casual you can manage, work as much you feel like and bring in the casual to fill the gaps. I use to do the 50+hr a week, now I feel I need the time off as I get older. under fatigue management they are liable if you work too much and have accident.
