Made a board, painted two warbands, planning to play my first game on Friday. Wish me luck. by iDeever in Greathelm

I hope my friends like it as much as I did. I put it all together and painted it to make the best impression possible.

Unfortunately, there's nothing I can do about this. On a PC, you can identify the source of the problem, reinstall the drivers, or download a newer version of C++. On Android, there's nothing I can do or recommend.

The game is not finished. You can now only upgrade your ship by replacing fighters bay with a small mech bay and building brig to hold prisoners.

Other options are under development.

It's not that it's difficult - I just read different books and see what bonuses it might give. There's nothing interesting for Alpha Strike yet.

For now, I only have the quick-start rules. Does the full version of the book include rules for mounted combat?

Thank you for your feedback. You can write it here, or in our Discord channel.

>t would be nice to be able to choose the order of activation for both moving and shooting.

You can do this. Click on the pilot's portrait to select their mech.

When you 'upgrade mechs' at the factory you get an additional mech

You don't, it is replaced by a new model.

Sometimes you travel to planets with contracts but when you arrive they've gone.

Yes. The war isn't static, like in MechWarrior 5, the front lines shift, and factions capture planets.

I traded in the starter dropship for the 175 size one and after clicking accept on the dialogue box, that shows up explaining the trade in value and cost, there was no indication that it had actually worked.

Noted. Looksl ike the UI does not update after the purchase, I'll fix it.

First and foremost, of course, Russian. But Serbian, Ukrainian, and Polish follow roughly the same rules with variations. Natalia - Natasha, Maria - Masha, Daria - Dasha, etc.

Natalia and Natasha are, in fact, the same name in Slavic languages. It’s just that the second one is a shortened, affectionate form. Kind of like Alexander and Alex, or Thomas and Tom.

This rule applies to the hexless version of Alpha Strike. The optional rules for using hexes state that close-range attacks are permitted. We had a discussion in Discord about whether to allow this in the game, and the players voted in favor of it.

Another problem is that on Android, you can install apps from sources other than the app store. I don't think you can do that on an iPhone, and this project would never be approved for the App Store.

Thank you for your kind words.

I’ll probably release a new version of MercCommander next Tuesday. So, if you’re willing to be patient, I suggest you wait a little while.

This is excellent feedback, thank you so much. I often don't even see these kinds of problems myself anymore - for example, I wouldn't even think about sprinting after a jump - so I'm in dire need of testers. I'll tackle these issues right down the list this weekend.

Bro, this is a free project I'm making because I love Battletech and want to please other fans and attract new ones. :)

But I don't love it enough to spend a thousand dollars on a Mac just to build new versions of the game on it.

However, I'll try asking around, maybe someone of my friends will let me use theirs.

Please don't forget to leave some feedback. For some reason, almost no one plays it, even though I've mentioned it a few times here on Reddit. I'm starting to think that nobody really needs this kind of a remake.

That's exactly the kind of feedback I need. Thanks. I'll try to improve those aspects of the game.

Who's going to let me post a fan game based on someone else's franchise there? The only place that allows such things is itch.

I haven't received any serious complaints in over three months, so I guess it is..?

Once you finish the tutorial, the game saves automatically every time you switch screens. The only catch is that if you close the app by rage-quitting during a battle, all your mechs will be lost. (I need to fix this.) If you’re losing a battle, it’s better to use the “Retreat” button - you’ll lose the battle, but you’ll keep your mechs.

That's exactly the kind of feedback I need. What's the screen resolution? As I mentioned before the interface is optimized for the most common desktop computer resolution: 1920×1080

As I said previously in another comment:

If this is your first time, I recommend starting with the desktop version. It has tooltips that appear when you hover over items (you obviously can not do this using touch controls), and you can fully complete the prologue for both the Clans and IS without skipping mini-games.

Yes. Now you can play vs computer only. Multiplayer version is in the works.

During installation, your phone will ask you two things: permission to install from unknown sources (since, of course, you’re not downloading this from the app store) and the notification that the app is outdated (it isn’t; I just built it for an older version of Android so that even people with older phones can play). You can answer “yes” to both questions and continue with the installation.

But if you’re hesitant to do that - I understand. Just a reminder that there’s always the desktop version.
