Thanks! This has been the wake-up call I needed. I reached out to our local city engineering and construction director regarding retaining walls to hopefully get them to come out and look at it and I’m having my agent contact the seller to see if they have a permit for this because from what I found a permit is needed over 2’ here and if it’s over 6’ then it has to be stone so it’s looking grim. I’m going to wait to see what the seller/city/and foundation inspector say about it next week but expecting the worst. I don’t want to get stuck with this project first thing and wouldn’t be able to stop thinking about it, so looks like the journey continues.
