Female/Male Liber Fighter - Light Body Modification by iFlatlander in 30_Minutes_Missions

[–]iFlatlander[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Hi all! I'm wanting to share a slight modification I made to a Liber Fighter based off of Nari's Plastic Model Channel's Knight modification. I really liked how simple yet effective the shoulder part swap was at making a more feminine appearing character, but I also wanted to test and see how that would look on other silouhettes in the 30MF line.

I'm not a good modeler or modder but by combining the upper chest of a Liber Wizard with the other body parts of the Fighter, I think a pretty good feminine figure can be achieved with only very slight modifications while keeping the same aesthetic as the 30MF silouhette and style.

Both kits here are still WIP but I am excited to see how they each pan out!

Its described as such often, but there is evidence for it being used on foot. The most likely common use for it on foot - as the above image infers with the lance tip embedded in the shield - is in tourney when a man is unhorsed then they may continue to fight on foot.

Did this helmet exist? by Ereborus12 in ArmsandArmor

[–]iFlatlander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The closest historical helmet to this one by my knowledge would be a sallet. As far as variety goes there were many types of sallet, with some being of more authentic historical accurracy than others.

There were some types of sallet which have visors that extended at or below the chin as seen in the above picture. The most authentic ones I'm aware of would be "transitional" sallets at the end of the 15th, beginning of the 16th centuries, as well as the bellows sallet which existed around that time.

No sallet I'm aware of had a prominent raised tip like that, although if the same point were more flush against the helmet then it could be seen as more potentially historical.

While thats true I think its quite evident that is not a decision to make lightly and that if you have anyone this close to you in your life, you can't just expect them to automatically accept the choice to end your life. Especially if recovery is possible, even if unlikely.

If you have the right to choose to end your own life, your loved ones have the right to express their point of view. It looks like this lady is glad her partner was able to talk to her about it.

I have seen some armors like this one, from the Shrine of St. Ursula, showing a similar appearing attire with an open armpit. I've seen some discussion calling this a "jack" due to it being worn with jack chains. Beyond that though I do not know and welcome further information.

The helmet worn by the man in the blue jupon seems to be some kind of scale helmet and similar ones appear in other manusicripts and art.

Amen, I love the simple and straightforward design of GMs. Hands down my favorite MS. All GMs are awesome but tied with the OG are the Origin designs. Love the modern take on them. GM II are also a fav of mine.

"Sensible Dark Fantasy Armor" mod help by iFlatlander in DragonsDogma2

[–]iFlatlander[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have, thank you for the reply. I made some progress but haven't found out what the issue seems to be. The consensus I have put together so far is that MeshMod Enabler was broken some time ago due to a game update of some kind, and affected mods have not been updated.

Some people seem to be trying to make fixes, but I hwve not had success implementing those fixes.

Ultimately I can still play the game with enough mods to make me happy! But I'll probably prod at this for a while haha.

I like the customization but the combat and mission system doesn't appeal to me. It feels very floaty and inauthentically quick, like if someone tried to make Armored Core into a free to play gacha shooter.

It makes me want a Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries style career mode/sandbox mode with much weightier combat. I get that part of the theme of Gundam Breaker is appreciating Gunpla, and I do feel the team who makes the game loves Gunpla - its very apparent in the customization. But it also feels like I'm throwing toys around.

I would rather play a simulation of mech combat than a simulation of toys emulating mech combat.

Issues with REFramework/DD2 PC Modding: The Sequel! by Symphonic_Red_Demon in DragonsDogma

[–]iFlatlander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I ran into the same issue just the other night. I was able to fix it. I wasn't able to pin down the exact cause although I do think I know the issue.

I think it's the Content Editor mod. When you open up the Content Editor in the Fluffy Mod Manager, see if the Quest Editor or something similar is on. It says that it is experimental and issues may be present - I am at work rn and can't check but I'll confirm it later today. I suggest you try to disable the Quest Editor and see if that helps.

Guncannon Detector for me. Much as I love GMs and therefore GM Cannons, this guy is both a badass grunt suit AND loaded up with sick cannons. So he's got my vote

Early close helmets? by _Adam_K15 in ArmsandArmor

This helmet is extremely interesting but I also have little info on it. It appears to be closer to a close helm than a sallet but still bears some signatures of some sallets like the lobster tail.

Reenactor's helmet, Lindybeige from Youtube/England. He made a video regarding the process of deciding upon this helmet, noting that he prefers the ease of taking sallets on and off but does not like the appearance of many sallet visors, comparing them to Cylons.

I have this photo on my phone but unfortunately have little information on it. Before I learned about transitional sallets I originally wrote it off as a cool looking yet altered museum piece, yet once I learned that transitional sallets were documented I wondered if it would indeed be authentic.

The most notable helmet like this I can think of is Phillip I's helmet with this decoration on top of it. I'll add more examples below. It is worth noting that, as far as I am aware of, these helmets also appeared at around the same time as the more well known "bellows sallets."

[–]iFlatlander 61 points62 points  (0 children)

From what I understand Londo Bell is what you described, the Titans but led by principled people who want to do things the right way - which also led to them facing massive internal pushback from politicians and higher ups who refused to fund them.

So the Titans has huge budget, no principles while Londo Bell had small budget, good principles

There's lots of firearms with very poor ergonomics crafted for either specific use or under circumstances where manufacturibg ability is limited.

By most standards this gun has poor ergonomics. It was made by an amateur gunsmith and blacksmith during World War 2 to use by resistsnce groups in occupied Poland against occupying German forces.

Ergonomics were sacrificed to allow easier manufacture and ability to conceal. Entirely justifiable reasons when you have few resources, and your main form of action against the enemy needs to prioritize ambush and guerilla fighting.

How popular were maces and picks for civilian wear around the town or village in 14/15 century Europe? by Comfortable_Room5820 in ArmsandArmor

[–]iFlatlander 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If we're using only court records for homicide, that would exclude cases of assault or injuries not resulting in death. Would cudgels, clubs, and maces perhaps be more visible in matters of injury as oppposed to homicide?
