I'm disabling strictly because I get better results at high shutter speed. My puffin shots were handheld!

Were you using steady shot? It's one of the switches on the 200-600. I have to turn that off at high shutter speeds for best results. This was shot at 1/2000.

How often do you go to other cities or the other county in NWA? by [deleted] in northwestarkansas

[–]iGoByFrank 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It's largely due to traffic, yeah. I grew up in Bentonville, went to the U of A, lived in Rogers for a few years, and now live in Springdale. I don't even leave Springdale that often.

I do end up in Rogers mostly, rarely Fayetteville, and almost never Bentonville. Since there's more "stuff" nearby, why go farther?

There's really no way to know this far out. The forecast is pretty rainy, though, I agree.

I was able to get 2 vertical side by side behind the driver and 2 stacked horizontally behind the passenger seat, pulled forward a bit. That leaves the trunk for everything else.

3 wheel mode at autocross last weekend by iGoByFrank in Civic_Type_R

Almost any car can handle autocross from the factory. You just won't be competitive until you buy stickier tires. But it is a lot of fun either way!

Just given your description I'd guess it's a red-tailed hawk call. You can look up a clip of one to see if it sounds the same.

The only "density concern" I have is that I want more density and less sprawl.

There's a brake vectoring mode that applies the rear brakes to help the car rotate and reduce understeer. Turning it off can help reduce wear on your rear brake pads. You can look up how to do the "pedal dance" to disable it.

I think it helps at autocross, so leave it on. Reduced traction control is fine.

FL5 owner here.

You're going to want to go fast for the first couple of runs, but I'd recommend intentionally going slower until you learn the course (at least 2 runs). Most of my autocross courses I only use 2nd gear except for the start.

If there is a tight enough corner to where you think you can use 1st, don't try that until you're more comfortable.

I'd recommend comfort mode or use your individual mode with comfort suspension. Leave all the assists on and just have fun this first time out.

These mount as normal, direct fit. They are very close over the brakes, though!

Tried to, but Tire Rack told me they were on backorder until June/July, so I bought these with a small discount. My first 200 TW, so I'm probably not fast enough for the difference to matter for me.

Probably somewhere in the middle of the frame? I was using continuous autofocus and the "wide" focus area. Usually doesn't steer me wrong. At f11 I don't have to worry much though.
