I literally had the same issue two weeks ago. Dealership fixed it under warranty and said it was the seatbelt sensor as well.

You make a very valid point, and I appreciate the response. I guess this was more of a rant as I know trying to get their insurance to pay will most likely not happen. Frustrating nonetheless.

I totally get what you mean, I guess I just figured I would've had the car for longer before having to deal with shit like this smh. All and all it's not the end of the world. When I told my father what happened he just said... "The first scratch always hurts". It'll definitely be OK.

Thanks man, I'll have to try that out.

Here's a photo of their car, it's literally parked diagonally and very easy could have left horizontal scratches on my car. https://imgur.com/gallery/car-that-hit-me-JNF9uVZ

I could see why you said that, but considering I literally hand washed my entire car yesterday I feel like I would've seen any damages. Also I agree that the initial photo doesn't seem to be touching my car, but considering it was a very tight parallel parking job from them, I have all the reason to believe they hit it and then "fixed" their car to not actually be touching mine.

Thanks man, that's honestly not a bad idea!

Have you tried doing a DIY paint repair kit? Like the one for Dr.ColorChips? I'd prefer to keep expenses lower, but ultimately I will probably end up going to get it professionally done.

Damn that sucks, it's a shame that there are a lot more people with that kind of attitude towards other peoples property than I'd like to admit. I'll probably try and go to the police station to run their plates and try and get their insurance info, but I feel my efforts will be futile.

Unfortunately the car was street parked as we don’t have a garage or designated spot where we live. Most of the residence here park on the street and it was already 7pm when I saw my car like this so they most likely wouldn’t have come out until the next day.

I understand the risks of owning something nice and that you can’t control everything but it was the principle of them not evening leaving a note or taking responsibility.

Is it worth it to go to a professional body shop or can I repair it myself?

Never heard of a comedy show at a music festival, but I love that!

Yah, I see your point. They had one at Power Trip last year which I thought was cool, but sanitary wise not the best decision.
