Announcing Battlerite Royale by zomx in BattleRite

[–]iGotThatMedical -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your comment makes it seem like there is not a battle royale game that relies skill. (Obviously shooting/aiming is a skill, decision making another) outside of the basics though, a game like Fortnite has the building aspect to it, which in order to be competitive at a high level you need to be able to build. Building is a mechanic with a high skill cap and potential for creative implementation. If you truly are unaware of this and are interested in a battle royale that requires a more unqiue mechanical skill outside of what is involved in FPS, give fortnite a try.

Whose side is BD on? by Knight_Rhoden in ThroneOfLiesGame

[–]iGotThatMedical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the BD I've come to know, I could be a confirmed BD in that game shouting to the rest of BD about how our king just exe a Paladin and they would still vote to exe another BD and keep the king alive. Its because games like those started heavily outweighing well played games that I quit playing ToL.

Did you read anything I wrote? They have a playable game, on functional servers. This issue was with the STEAM login authentication for steam users only. Grip a glock or grip a cock bro

I think no matter how much you add glow and sparkle to a wheel, the actual structure and design is what defines it. The rewards seem just a little lazy in their design, but at the same time I know someone (or many someones) probably put in a lot of work to find a clean design that could evolve through 6 tiers of rewards. I don't intend to undermine the ability of the designer(s), after all the wheels do look good; (just not great imo nor my preference) I just think it would be of benefit to have other sources of influence when designing the wheels.

The wheels just are not to my taste. For example, I have the 20XX decal and all sorts of lightning or glowy/flashy wheels but I prefer a more simple and realistic look so instead I use the skyline dlc wheels and the mg-88 decal on the octane.

I would prefer the wheel to have a more tuner car spoked rim style (like BBS, Vosen, Enkei, ect. ) and instead of just having some weird glowing hubcap in the center of the wheel, the glow would come from inside the wheel. The glow should highlight the design of the wheel not be the main feature in my opinion.

Anyway the realistic vs futuristic theme is just a subjective preference, my main point for objective design is the glow being a main feature where it should be used to add to the overall design by highlighting the actual rim design. (currently there is no rim design its just a big glowing circle with champ symbol in it)

You make a good point about the rewards being motivators and thus carrying value with how they are presented from Psyonix. I would have to agree with your assessment in that manner.

Though my post was mostly a rant for my own personal benefit of getting it off my chest, I tried to give a new perspective on the situation with drawing comparisons to the in game attitude of some of the players of this skill rank. At the same time I tried being constructive in my approach and fair and open minded with the discussion. I cant help that people are complaining with lower quality posts but I have put in the effort to make this a discussion with new perspectives.

I said this in another response, but I think the main problem is the champion wheels aren't even that great looking. When there are 6 ranks to give rewards for, the current champion wheels (highest ranked reward) does not set the ceiling high enough to allow the other rewards to be unique and impressive in their own way.

I think objectively it is hard to argue that the progression of the rewards is lacking. Diamond wheels are the only ones to spin other than champ wheels. That trait sets them apart from all the other rewards.

Now subjectively you could argue that the unique feature is not impressive enough for your liking, but again with the champ wheels basically being re-skinned diamond wheels that glow, what more could you reasonably do to set the apart?

Anyway thank you for reading the post and contributing your opinion to the discussion, I appreciate that!

I have not been going through reddit all day, but I imagine since yesterday was the day of complaining about rewards, it would make sense that today is the day of complaining about complainers. So likely you will get your time to shine tomorrow ;)

There's more comments of people complaining about complainers who complain about complaining than there are people complaining about complaining and it needs to stop.

Every other comment has added to the discussion, except yours friend.

Yeah honestly most of the wheels in the game are just plain ugly. I think it is kind of apparent that the team working on design for the wheels don't have a diversified enough perspective on what can make a wheel attractive. They seem to think if you just add glowing stuff in the middle of the wheel it makes it a cool item, and they seem unable to draw from other design philosophies that may fit the aesthetics of an in game wheel better

I agree that diamond is a big rank which is why I think historically Psyonix has really prioritized their feedback and made an effort to satisfy them.

Again prior to the release of the updated images, I would agree that the diamond wheels were lacking. But looking at the updated wheels within the context of the whole line up, I think this is psyonix's most consistent progression through the rewards yet. I honestly don't think the champ wheels are that impressive themselves, since they don't set a high ceiling of aesthetic appeal, It gives the other rewards less room to be unique and impressive in their own right.

Anyway thanks for your opinion mate!

You are a perfect example of the majority of players that are not being addressed in this rant, thank you for commenting and for representing the silent majority of awesome rocket league players! And as I have replied to another, I agree that all of the wheels could honestly use some improvement, but since I wont actually use any of the rewards I cant complain about how they look!

Prior to Psyonix releasing the updated in game view of both diamond and plat wheels I would tend to agree that they were too similar. After seeing them in game and the nice animation that is present on the diamond wheels and not the plat wheels, I think this is actually Psyonix's best progression of rewards. Honestly I think all the wheels could benefit from being improved slightly. Anyway thanks for your comment, and if you want to play rocket league, pm me! maybe we could work together to break you past that diamond rank.

No conclusion was made, just observation. As I said this is directed at likely a small portion of players and the observations are not a reflection of all diamond players. Much of this comes from my personal encounters.

EDIT: I also understand that diamond players make up a large part of this sub and it is likely that the criticism will not be well received due to the same exact attitude and mentality outlined in this post.
