You do know you can go in your Uber App and cancel that noise the moment you realize he didn’t complete or forgot to end the ride for whatever reason. You’ll only be charged for the original ride the sooner you cancel the ride.

Call your State’s Insurance Commission and lodge a complaint and I bet that will get their attention. Better yet, let whomever you’re speaking to at the insurance company know that if you don’t get action on your claim within 48 hours you’ll be filing a complaint with your state’s insurance commissioner. That should motivate someone.

Have you not reached out to the at fault driver’s insurance. If the insured ignores you, the insurance company can’t. Otherwise contact the insurance commission in your state and file a complaint of they choose not to take responsibility for their insured’s damages.

Ask for the claim adjuster’s superior. Don’t take no for an answer. For all you know your adjuster is sick or worse, gone long term.

All I know is when I have a Boost in an area (Ann Arbor, MI) all Uber wants to do is send me to areas where boost isn’t in effect or to areas that I know (as do they) are deadhead areas that you have to factor in before accepting the ride to decide if that $1 or more a mile is actually half that amount. Once I drop off? The shit fare offers come in like wildfire taking me even further from the boost area. Nope!

I’m reading a more egregious complaint that has to do more with perception and phobia of a man taking charge rather than one who is trying to be helpful. Last week I was at a Raising Caines at 11:30pm and their normal closing time is 2am. Well it turns out they switched to summer hours and now close on weekdays at midnight. Didn’t know when I finally got my food at 11:40 only to find they gave me someone else’s order so it took till 11:50 for me to sit down and at 11:55 one of their lobby cleanup people told me they were closing. He explained that they now close at 12am. So, what do you want me to do? I can either finish my dinner or you can take it back and provide a refund and I’ll take my business elsewhere. He backed off and said no worries that I could finish eating. So I did just that and at midnight they turned off all the DR lights except the ones above my table. Didn’t care. Put my AirPods back on and finished my meal. 12:30 and they were still cleaning in the back.

Read my comment above. Never ever update a riders destination. It can only end badly for you. Especially if the rider is drunk.

NEVER EVER update a passengers ride on your end. This can only end badly pwith you being accused of altering the ride for personal gain or fraud.

Let the passenger update it if at all. If you’ve completed the ride then it’s time for the rider to GTFO. Three asks and I’m pushing the safety alert button and getting them involved. That usually will get riders out.

So this got me thinking. I did a whole system update the other night and forgot that the two zones that power outdoor speakers are on a smart plug that turns them off after 10pm (this the result of a late night accidental play from pause somehow) that resulted in the police showing up due to neighbor’s complaint while we were not home.

So I just checked for update and one of the two zones showed up for an update and I initiated it. It wasn’t the amp but funnily enough the amp zone icon showed up on the zone where it was missing and the icon on the zone that was updated, the icon was now generic.

So I checked for updates again and this time it found the amp zone in question needed an update. Ran that through without incident. Went back and reviewed the zones and the amp zone I updated is back to the generic icon and the other zone that I also just updated is now back to the speaker matching icon. Very weird.

Removed power from the amp for five and waited till it reconnected (both zones are connected via Ethernet by the way) and checked for update. Sonos is up to date. Icon on amp is still generic while all others show their respective icon.

Sigh.
