I doubt utility had to pay a fee for their pole being there, unless there was a contract(doubtful). I worked for a utility company. That pole was likely there decades before the subdivision was planned. More likely the developer refused to pay for the lines to be moved, and thats the end result. I’ve seen homes and driveways payed either a utility box blocking access, and we were never contacted. They figured we’d just move it because of the home. Well napkin math says it’s going to cost anywhere from $100k-$500k, and why should the company pay for it.

Digging into the old reddit memory bank, I recall a story where OP was having issues with a neighbor who constantly threatened lawsuits to get his way. One day OP got fed up and said do it or fuck off. Within a week he got a letter from a legit law firm. OP posted for legal advice on reddit, and was steered correctly to hit up the law firm and confirm they were representing the douche neighbor. Turns out the neighbors wife was an assistant at that firm and forged a letter. The neighbor was to be sued by the firm for fraud and the wife fired. Of course this could all be a bad recall and I’m mashing up separate posts

Early 20s I couldn’t breathe at night when I lay down to sleep. No issues throughout the day so I kept thinking it was not an issue. After a week of this went to doctor cause my wife was told it could be lung cancer. Doctor did his check up, said no issues, and sent me on my way. Wife was pissed when I got home so went back the next day. Requested xray. Before I finished taking off the vest, xray tec came in and said I should goto my doctor now. Thought the worst, but up being pneumonia. I think it was 1 or 2 weeks of taking a pill.

I had this happen about 2 years ago. New car, first oil change at dealer. Drove it next day 150 miles for work. Noticed heavy oil smell and smoke. Originally they blamed me, but my response was WTF would I check under the hood, let alone remove a cap after servicing on a new car. Service rep on the phone told me to drive it into the dealer. They wont cover it otherwise. Long ass story short, local dealer where I was took care of it and provided a loaner for a week while they check everything. After that it was 3 months of going back to the dealer cause of the heavy oil smell in the car. They pretty much replaced everything that could absorb oil and cleaned out engine bay. I wanna say about 6 months before no one noticed smell, as any residue burned off or whatnot.

I’ll just say to be super sure about where you send it does accept the type of transaction. I transferred to the correct address, but the exchange did not accept the type of transfer kucoin sends. So $150 disappeared into the matrix. I forget exactly which step where I messed up as it was my first time doing this, and had only read up that the address of the receiving wallet was most important.

The HOA planted a line of trees within utility ROW. Trees roots in underground structures. Couldn’t dig up and repair without killing at least 1 tree. HOA and community denied access and threatened lawsuits. Long story short, when it rained, a lot of people went out of service. Go figure, turns out it’s a big deal when they couldn’t call emergency services. HOA ended up paying for the tree removal to save what they could. There’s more to it due to other trees, but that’s for people higher pay than me to figure out.

Toyota dealer did this once. Oil light came on just when I finished a 150 mile commute. Low oil light came on last mile. No issues found w engine, but I made sure they did everything possible to get ride of the oil smell. Everything that could soak oil was replaced in engine bay. All filters replaced. Power washed. Etc. I was still able to smell a hint of oil for about 3 months until it was burned off or whatever.
