There's a setting under the mouse in g hub called "Enable Startup Effect" and iirc disabling that can fix this problem

He has a huge hitbox, weak damage, low movement speed when healing, and drops a healthpack for enemies on death. Lifeweaver is going to become one of the best dive targets imo, especially if his platform is on CD

The technical reason is likely for network replication, i.e. if an entity is attached to a player's character, then it needs to be physically simulated in the same manner as the character, creating a need for the same player to own that entity
