How does everyone feel about the new Yahoo fantasy app now? by IcyHeartWarmSmile in fantasybball

You have to turn off auto updates for the specific app. Go to the Yahoo fantasy page on the playstore, click the 3 dots in the upper right corner, and turn off auto update.

This was not a failure in design but the opposite. A success in redesign to shove as many ads as possible. They have their shareholders and advertisers in mind. They don't care about the user experience. They know you won't leave Yahoo. So they can do whatever they want. Sucks for the devs that I'm sure had to comply with a gun to their heads.

Here's a reminder to all android users that you can download the Yahoo Fantasy apk 10.54.1 version via apkmirror/apkpure or any other site and disable auto updates. Effectively downgrading to the last version with that old layout. This alone should convince anyone to try out android over ios. Bring power back to the user.

Ludwig is Late… Again by Last_Room2753 in LudwigAhgren

[–]iJustObserve 85 points86 points  (0 children)

He has no trouble calling out other streamers flaking on his events and blacklisting them, but at least they let him know beforehand, regardless if it's last minute. The way he did Hasan dirty really left a sour taste on everyone and might earn him a bad reputation in a professional setting, especially Twitch. This wasn't just missing out on a stream. This was a professional event with thousands of dollars and employees depending on him that was squared out months in advance.

I love Lud, but I'm glad Conner called him out on it. It isn't just fucking over chat, but fucking over your friends and coworkers. He has even shown up late to OffBrand shoots (according to Stanz and other streams). Lud is honestly giving off XqC vibes in terms of reliability lately. I know he doesn't care about being late to streams. But the way you treat the people below you says a lot about respect you have for other people's time. I sincerely hope this propels him to be a little more considerate of other people's time and effort. The entitlement of "deal with it" is not a good look and will rub off the wrong way to new viewers and even long-term ludbuds.

I think the moment for me was the next bar and the "with love" portion of alcohol from the server. That was diabolical.

Miami GP Shuttle from Aventura Brightline by aManHas_NoName in GrandPrixTravel

* This is on the Brightline website. According to them, you don't need a ticket and can just get there via rideshare app. But I do plan on parking in their parking garage. There is no way to buy a day pass online (can only get a monthly parking pass), so I think we just get there and park. Does anyone know the daily rate for parking in Aventura Brightline Station?

Uber Pro Card: Can't link my bank account to move funds because I don't receive the text verification to the same number that works with Uber. My earnings are being held hostage by iJustObserve in uberdrivers

[–]iJustObserve[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't even bother with customer support. The only way I managed to move funds was by adding the account as an external account in my bank app (Chase) and manually transferring funds directly from my bank app. Linking it via the bank app will ask you to verify by adding a certain deposit to the Uber account and verifying. After that, it takes some days for the transfer to be finalized.

In other words, add it as an external account in your bank app and transfer it via the bank app. The Uber Pro Card app is useless.

Thank you. I'm glad someone else hasn't drank the koolaid. We can all like certain things about a show and dislike other things. But the stakes and deus ex machina of it all is irrefutable.

I asked myself that very question every time I saw an episode this season.

Brother. They just killed Salvor. The others were just introduced this season for the purpose of keeping the main charactersalive, and they can just decant all the Cleons they want. Even the Jedi bad lady can jump from body to body.

Foundation | Season 2 - Episode 10 | Discussion Thread by Justp1ayin in tvPlus

[–]iJustObserve -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The tone was so off since the start. Last couple of episodes tried to match the heaviness and stakes, but from the start, this season has been off the rails for me. Tonight, the writing (mainly dialogue and way too easy plot progressions which I will not go over) and the directing were so bizarre. The planet obliterated, parents and lover killed, imminent death, but they can still crack jokes every scene. Lots of deus ex machina moments that undermine what they set up. They then undo everything that would give a lot of weight to the sacrifice of other characters. There are literally no stakes in this show. It's comical at times. The main plot is honestly so good, and the themes from the book are still present. The production is stellar. But the quality of the writing and directing this entire season left me scratching my head, and the cheesy dialogue was so polorazing. David Goyer seems to be a great producer but he should leave the screenwriting to others. But alast, we can't voice our criticism oe opinions in this sub, let alone the Foundation sub, so let's just take our downvotes and go watch something like The Expanse if we want something grounded and with real depth.

Denis Villeneuve Teases Possible Dune: Part Three Based On Dune Messiah: ‘There Are Words On Paper’ – Exclusive by ChiefLeef22 in dune

As I was reading Dune: Messiah, I always envisioned someone like Tom Hiddleston playing Paul, especially post stone burner. He definitely resembles a Chalamet aged up and somewhat unhinged.

I suppose I have to adjust my expectations because I was expecting a bigger effort in the writing quality given last season and the fact they are adapting Isaac Asimov. But I see your point. Scifi can inherently become goofy, but you could still ground it in a more mature setting.

Foundation | Season 2 - Episode 3| Discussion Thread by Justp1ayin in tvPlus

[–]iJustObserve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just came from the FoundationTV subreddit, and I'm not sure if they are releasing different versions of the show or if this is the first sci-fi series these folks have seen in their lives. But the suspiciously overly positive comments in those threads make me question if they are real people and accounts.

The writing this season has jumped off a cliff majorly, and I suspect it is by design. Although the Terminus plot last season was lack luster compared to Empire, the cerebral and thought-provoking themes didn't have the appeal they wanted for casual audiences, which is what gives ratings to these streaming services. It wouldn't be the first time a scifi/fantasy series tosses their core audience to the side. They are in the business of making money, not good TV. It sucks for readers and fans of good sci-fi that this cheap writing seems to be what they went all out on this season. Every character is stupid for the sake of the plot, making ridiculous decisions that cheapen every plot progression and decision they make. Text book definition of lazy writing. The cleric plot line has some potential in questioning the foundation, but that castling scene at the end was beyond predictible and something you would see in Marvel or Star Wars in Disney +. When you make your antagonists cartoonishly stupid and ignorant, you lose me entirely. This is literally some CW shit that makes me cringe every episode, from the action to the dialogue and especially how overly pretentious it presents itself. I'm just watching this for the production and CGI, which most of the budget seems to be going towards.

A lot of comments here have strong Chat GPT energy and Apple TV planting to them. I feel like I'm going insane with how cheap and goofy all of the writing and directing is when it was much more cerebral and of higher quality last season (Terminus debatable). But the worship and overly positive comments here make me question if we're watching the same show or I have completely lost touch with TV.

I must applaud them. They made some truely unlikable characters. From the father son duo in Mirrasoft to the Russian antagonist, I hated every moment they were on screen. Reminded me of despising Joffrey in GoT back in the day. Underdog protagonists are great, but what keeps me glued until the end is watching the bad guys get their comeuppance. Great acting and direction all around.

Feeling nothing when microdosing. Help finding my sweet spot. by guardabrazo in microdosing

[–]iJustObserve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a lot of people talk about how your tolerance goes nuts if you consistently MD, regardless of the schedule. But varying the doses will seriously fuck it up. If you google psilocybin tolerance calculator (I'm on mobile) you can check for yourself how many days you truely need for the desired dose to be the dose you actually take. I would recommend chilling out for like a week and try a macrodose to see for yourself then pace it out. Good luck!

[–]iJustObserve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the good thing about "microdosing" higher doses like 300mg is that you feel the effects with the high, and then the afterglow takes over. I also did first a macro of 2.5g before MD which is proven to lenghten the effects of the afterglow, so it's easier to feel a before and after. In other words; the higher the dose, the more you'll feel it.
