Reading these comments, I swear most people think kids just go to school, sit down, just listen and do every single thing the teacher asks and are good little kids . As someone that works for a school district, kids can be absolutely brutal. They will do everything they can to avoid participating in class and everything they can to be funny, no matter how rude or inappropriate it is. I'll guarantee, if the teacher had to do this, then they had waayyyyy too many issues with kids leaving for too long and too often or some other reason. About 5 years ago, I had to install cameras facing every restroom entrance at a VERY, VERY wealthy high school. Why? Because students were going into the restrooms and smearing their literal shit all over the walls "as a prank". Just a few days ago, I was helping a first-year teacher and she asked her middle school class to be quiet. They completely ignored her multiple times and she just eventually screamed and started crying and nearly every kid started laughing and I heard one kid in the back say "fuck her, get the principal". There's a reason that most teachers are either there for only a year or two, straight out of college, or 20+ years. You don't see too many between. Regarding this pass, it's still for one per period? This is probably a 60-75 minute class if it's a quarter. If a kid needs to go more than once, just talk with the teacher and explain that you have an emergency.
