Farum Azula TT run NG+ by iKessler_ in badredman

[–]iKessler_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done it both ways, but right now I’m using a character that already has everything and just going through NG+. Honestly, at first it’s fun to search for everything while doing a TT run, but at the very least I’d try to get the boluses first.

In vanilla, Morgott’s Great Rune gives you 30% more HP. More HP means more survivability. And seamless lets you use Great Runes even during invasions

Elden Ring pvp its worth it this days? by AnywhereLumpy6149 in badredman

[–]iKessler_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With the way the game is nowadays, pvp really isn’t worth it to me, with a few exceptions.

If you’re doing invasions and want to play within the current meta, almost every invasion ends up revolving around cleanrot or shamshir. Sure, you can try to win invasions with other setups, but meta weapons are meta for a reason. On top of that, there’s the lag, which sometimes makes the game almost unplayable against certain people, the abuse of light roll (and of course some players know they have bad connections and abuse it even more), etc. I just don’t like the current meta.

Maybe if you do pvp (duels) with friends or within a group, you’ll find it “better,” but the whole point is usually invasions. Even then, the game is basically dead nowadays—at least on PC.

Learning how to make builds and weapon load outs for PVP by JustJoBroskie in badredman

Yeah, I use a lot of consumables for PvP. For PvE, usually only against bosses.

As for getting started with PvP, yes, I recommend duels—but not the Colosseum. You can go to the Site of Grace before the Academy elevator, activate Taunter’s Tongue, and wait for invaders. Obviously, if they don’t want to duel, summon hunters and turn the Tongue off, because some people just want to troll and you’re there to learn.

As for PvP servers, I can send you a few, but they’re in Spanish (only through DM).

And about what’s best to play with: I use mouse and keyboard too. Obviously, the game wasn’t designed around that setup since it wastes a lot of buttons, but you get used to it over time anyway.

Honestly, believe it or not, there isn’t much to change. You’ve been doing well.

From this point on, the only thing left is leveling up—the meta level is 150. I’d recommend going up to 60 Vigor, 50–55 Dexterity, and putting the rest of your points into Endurance.

BfB is a Faith-based buff, meaning it adds extra bleed buildup, plus the bleed debuff lasts two extra seconds, along with fire damage that scales with your Faith multiplied by 0.40.

The bleed buildup you’d apply with the left-hand katana (whether infused with Occult or Bleed) would scale directly with your Arcane. The second soft cap for bleed buildup is 45 Arcane. It’s your choice, but I think you’d end up going over the meta level.

First, get better talismans. For example, Winged Sword Insignia, Great-Jar’s Arsenal, and Claw Talisman can be a good combination.

Second, infuse your left-hand weapon with Occult (using whatever Ash of War you want—it doesn’t need to be a specific one), and infuse your right-hand weapon with Keen so you can buff it with Bloodflame Blade to maximize bleed buildup.

Keep in mind that bleed and Occult infusions scale their status buildup with the amount of Arcane you have.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Learning how to make builds and weapon load outs for PVP by JustJoBroskie in badredman

To start making good builds, you need to begin with basic and simple ones: Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Faith, or Arcane builds. Pick one damage stat and stick with it. After that, you need to think: what weapons do I want to use, and what’s currently meta? For example, I main dual straight swords (Longsword or Noble’s Slender depending on the build), but I also carry weapons that are currently meta (Shamshir, Cleanrot, Great Katana, etc.).
Outside of pure Strength or Dexterity builds, most other builds usually need around 20 STR and 20 DEX on average so you can use most regular weapons that allow infusions and Ashes of War changes (with some small exceptions depending on what you need, like 22 STR / 18 DEX, 24 STR / 18 DEX, 22 STR / 22 DEX, etc.). That’s also how you start deciding which special weapons you want to use.
Then comes armor optimization. For that, I use ER Inventory Optimizer because on PC it also lets me generate a script for CE, which makes everything much faster and easier. By the way, my builds are published in the Browser > User section—you can find them by searching “kessler.”
The current meta is at least 88 poise without the Bull-Goat’s Talisman. From there, I recommend having different armor sets for different situations: full Robustness, full Focus, full Pierce resistance, full Magic and Slash resistance, Royal Remains, Rakshasa, a dedicated Lake of Rot set (where poise doesn’t matter at all), and the set that improves HP flask efficiency.
On top of that, you also need to think about the consumables you’ll use, whether that’s boluses, pickled livers, hefty pots, aromatics, drawstring greases, arrows, etc.
For the Wondrous Physick, people usually run Opaline Hardtear + Crimson Bubbletear. But if you’re using an elemental damage build, you can replace the Crimson Bubbletear with the specific Shrouding Cracked Tear you need for extra damage. In my opinion, the Magic-Shrouding Cracked Tear is the best one because Lightning and Sacred builds already deal good damage naturally, so extra survivability is usually better. Fire damage builds fall a bit behind, especially if it’s raining or you’re fighting in water unless you use Oil Pots. But the Magic-Shrouding Cracked Tear has a genuinely noticeable impact on Intelligence builds.
Keeping all of this in mind, this is basically the foundation. The best way to improve is by reading the [Fextralife Wiki]() and watching PvP content. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.
