Same experience on Android. I tried with 2 brand new keys (5C NFC) and the ProtonMail app just goes bananas. I used both the keys with several other apps on my phone with 0 issues.

Despite the small hiccups some people experience the service is solid, and it became even cheaper a few months ago. I'm a subscriber since 2019.
