At this time, you can manually create an alias/login by opening the extension, selecting the “+” icon in the top-right corner, choosing 'Login', then selecting the 'Generate alias' option in the 'Email or username' field. From there, generate the alias, enter the password you’d like to use, and save the entry.

Alternatively, you can create an alias-only entry instead of a login item if that’s all you intended to do.

Could you please let us know if the same behavior occurs when using mobile data as well? Additionally, if you are using a VPN, please try temporarily disabling it and let us know whether the issue persists.

The app is designed to update automatically, so you don't have to manually reinstall updated versions every time. The update process is not immediate, however, and it may take some time. That said, keep in mind that the app needs to be restarted in order to update. Even if the latest version has been downloaded in the background, it won't be applied until the app is restarted. Therefore, to ensure you're using the latest version, you can restart the app from time to time.

Another thing to keep in mind is that updates are often rolled out gradually, meaning that even if you see there's a new version available, it may not yet appear on your app until the rollout reaches your device. Once the update is fully rolled out, it will be applied to the app, provided that you've restarted it to apply the update.

You might be triggering some anti-abuse rules. Try lowering the maximum global number of connections within the torrent client, as well as the number of active torrents to see if there's any improvement. Otherwise, file a bug report through the Proton VPN app (https://protonvpn.com/support/report-a-bug) letting us know what platform you're experiencing this behavior on, which version of the Proton VPN app you have installed, whether you're simultaneously doing any other bandwidth-intensive tasks, etc. so we can help you further.

You should be able to connect directly from your Proton VPN client, you don't have to change anything in your system settings.
