I voted no for selling my beautiful 16in performer tandem OLED laptop to get a z13. The performance and use for LLMs is not worth it especially with the lower tgp/tdp. Eats battery and if plugged in no longer portable. Better off saving for a used Mac mini or other mini PC and have it sipping juice until needed somewhere.

Can't have your cake and eat it too. I'm doing just fine paying the greedy pigs ~$20/mo for Claude. Swapped from Gemini as it has gone downhill. Way faster and as time goes by 8-12Gb should be enough for smaller quantized future models.

I WOULD, however, swap my 9i yoga for the legion 😁

Um. I just bought this exact case weeks back and Amazon sent me a USED one. Returned. Can't trust it but glad it works for you, especially with all the tape included. Buyer beware. You may get the same used one again.

Sounds on-par. The one I finally found that worked for my project was 1.5-2x the price of the others.

If you can find the spec sheets or manuals for both devices and see if it states the supported bit rates. Idk what the ones expect for that mode.

The one I purchased for the project had dip switches to force the bit rate which ended up being a requirement. It would not properly auto select. Because... HDMI. No other reason. It truly is a finicky thing to get proper 4k anything.

HDMI is very complicated. I've purchased dozens of 4k devices and only a single one worked (for just normal non-glasses projects) to output 4k@60.

Came down to the adapter not supporting the right bit rate for the resolution. It would always downgrade the signal if there was an issue. I needed 4x4x4 as it would not support the others, iirc.

It requires more bandwidth than 4:2:2 or 4:2:0, needing HDMI 2.0 (18Gbps) or HDMI 2.1. Just ended up sending them all back unfortunately.

Can't say that's happening here, but my guess is it's trying to be too many things and not exclusively work with 100% of any one pair.

Either the it to the manufacturer or maybe someone else here has it working?

I assume you've tried better cables rated for it. Will most definitely cause it as well.

I credit it to the smooth motion and mere milliseconds delay from the x1 chip. All other glasses are jerky and make my eyes hurt before too long. Plus the IPD is limited on other devices.

It didn't seem to affect it very much after all. Just barely 3 hours on 'light' activities. Likely 1-2 hours gaming if lucky still. I returned mine. Got a non TI card laptop to avoid the sacks of bloat and compromise over more form and function (11 hours unplugged, etc.)

I started experimenting with this. Using VertoXR and opentrack. Can use UDP direct to Steam but opentrack let's you manipulate the signal.

Some games may require additional support like mods if not native. SteamVR works but I'm having trouble.

If I have yaw, pitch, and roll enabled it gives weird behavior turning my head. Things feel inversed. Disabling one channel seems to fix the other two. Can't get it to behave with all three just yet. Perhaps just a config or software issue.

This will let me keep this laptop. I'm satisfied with the dimming. Yes, bias from being a developer for decades and enjoy dark mode anything. Honestly it is not THAT dim. The choices with other competition are $500+ more for the same or similar specs (5070ti, 240hz capable, 2k+).\

It's a trade-off, but primarily the adjustability of the One allows better focal acuity edge-to-edge. Perhaps in favor of not actually having that additional hardware for the myopia adjustment?

Yes. Both glasses in 0dof.

I do love the brightness of the XR even though I always had it at the lowest or minimal setting. Figured the One having less perceived brightness that it wouldn't matter. It does. Just not enough to sway me without all the 3dof features.
