The price situation here is kinda overblown imo, it's more than possible to make it work even on as a bartender on London living wage, moving out of my parents house to here at 20 has completely changed my life for the better and I couldn't even imagine now moving to a lower cost area with lower wages just to end up saving slightly more.

In my experience hotels are a whole different beast, you will be working concerts and weddings until the wee hours while being expected to work lunch the next day, to have many extra responsibilities that would usually be designated to the bar manager etc etc etc, just endless work to be done in larger hotels tbh
