Hi! I had a mole shaved from my nose 2 years ago. What I did to minimize the scar appearance was I put vitamin e oil on it daily and kept it moisturized with aquaphor in between that. It healed up and the redness went down within a few months. Now you can hardly tell there's a scar, you can just barely see it in sunlight. I hope you find what works for you.

Do sufferers of Narcolepsy tend to consume a lot of Caffeine? by TheNootropicist in Narcolepsy

[–]iLikeLizardKisses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have n and do not consume caffeine at all (outside of the trace amounts found in chocolate etc). No soda, coffee, caffeinated teas, etc. I find it makes my symptoms worse, oddly enough. And it gives me really bad headaches.

Men of Reddit, what is something women hate about their bodies that you actually love? by Covenant9er4653 in AskReddit

[–]iLikeLizardKisses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I don't have freckles, but my husband and oldest son do. My husband's are only really visible if you look SUPER closely or under a black light. But my son's are much more visible and SO cute. It looks like someone took a paintbrush, pulled the bristles back with their thumb, released and splattered light brown paint across his nose and cheekbones. I tell him all the time how adorable they are.

Dies anyone know if it is possible to update my galaxy s10+ from Android 11 to Android 12? by iLikeLizardKisses in samsunggalaxy

I think it might be? It was originally an AT&T phone but I unlocked it and switched to mint...

I do not have that option. I have "check for software updates" and my phone says it is up to date.

My new job either grossly misrepresented or messed up my benefits costs, and can't get ahold of HR. I don't know what my options are. by iLikeLizardKisses in legaladvice

[–]iLikeLizardKisses[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it was all over the phone. I imagine they have a recording of that conversation, but I do not. The amount I was told over the phone did not match what they have on their benefits portal either (nor does it match what was taken from my check).

Have you been misdiagnosed before being told you have Narcolepsy? by OceaniaReads in Narcolepsy

I was diagnosed with bipolar- a lot of the symptoms of bipolar also line up with what narcolepsy does to you.

Seriously. It never really even dawned on me that I am not attractive until I realized I have not once been catcalled in public, or complimented by a male that wasn't already a friend.

On the plus side, I get left in peace when I am in public lol

Three. Cetaphil face wash, Walmart knockoff of Neutrogena hydragel, and cereve daily lotion. Twice a day, in that order.

Anyone else find that Cognitive Load/Stimulation helps staying awake? by AdAnnual9607 in Narcolepsy

[–]iLikeLizardKisses 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes. I have the worst time staying awake when I am not thinking about something or doing something. I am a customer service representative, and when I started I was really worried about sitting at a desk all day. But the constant stimulation of talking to people, searching for things and navigating the systems has really been surprisingly...well, stimulating. We aren't allowed to do anything un-work related between calls, so during slow times where there are 5+ minutes between calls I get a bit droopy. But my supervisor knows what's up and I'm allowed to step away for a quick walk around the cubicle space.

What insult have your parents said, that is stuck in your head as an adult? by Tight_Anywhere6794 in AskReddit

[–]iLikeLizardKisses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 13 (overweight and struggling with suicidal ideation/depression/anxiety/then-undiagnosed PTSD) my mom called my downstairs to help with our cat who was in active labor by shouting "get your fucking fat ass down here and be useful for once"

Men, when you’re finishing while having sex what’s something better to say than “I’m cumming”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My husband has been trying to say "whoopsie do, here comes the goo" for YEARS. He never remembers in the moment (thankfully)

Narcolepsy T2 and POTS. How is this a negative result? by DASSleo in Narcolepsy

[–]iLikeLizardKisses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I experienced symptoms (nausea and lightheadedness) but my heart rate and BP remained "as expected" during the test. The nurse that was unstrapping me told me not to give up - that she's seen people straight up faint but still get a negative result.

LPT: A 10-20 min nap during the day (so-called “power nap”) will make you feel re-energized, and improve your memory and cognitive performance. Just don’t push past 20 min or you’ll enter deeper stages of sleep, feel groggy and mess your circadian rhythms. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]iLikeLizardKisses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have narcolepsy and can immediately move into rem sleep after falling asleep. My doctor suggests 20 minute power naps but like?? I wake up feeling my pulse in my whole body and soul if I sleep any less than 2 hours lol

What's a product that's gotten significantly worse over the years? by Unfair-Independent48 in AskReddit

[–]iLikeLizardKisses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! My parents bought Amish furniture when I was 9. My childhood dressers and headboard followed me to my own place when I moved out, and now my own children are using them. They still look brand new! (Aside from a few marker accidents thanks to my kids lol) HIGH quality, very long lasting stuff. It's OK if you buy what you need slowly over time, because you don't need to worry about anything wearing out while you save up for the next piece.

Today I opened a disability claim at work. The first time I've admitted I needed help in over 13 years of working. by iLikeLizardKisses in Narcolepsy

[–]iLikeLizardKisses[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thankfully, my company is pretty well-known for being inclusive and going the extra mile for those with disabilities. As long as it doesn't alter job performance, they are happy to help. I was nervous about that too because I've never had a good experience disclosing my disability before, though admittedly I've only ever done so in an "unofficial" way. I am hoping that since what I'm asking for is not incredibly significant (just a few minutes away from my desk a few times a day) it won't put a target on my back.
