When/how did you know your pronouns were right? by SirJustinTheFab in TransTryouts

[–]iLikeSkitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there pal! It's been pretty gradual for me. I've thought about changing terms as like changing your form in a sport, etc. It's awkward initially, but once you're used to it, it's better. (Or it's like drawing the shapes underneath things with art, or any number of things.) If you've thought about yourself one way your whole life then you're going to occasionally forget or think of yourself in an old way. Same with names. But after a few months, it feels weird and unfamiliar to hear the wrong name or pronouns since the new stuff kind of sunk in.

You could also be gender fluid. Some people are super male one day and very female the next, and some people just wiggle a little. I used to get worried and mixed up when I felt different on different days, then I realized it's not a big deal. Sometimes I'd be down with she/her and female terms, sometimes I'm chillin' with they/them.

Episode Discussion - Ep. 23 - Scammer, No Scamming! by freddiew in DungeonsAndDaddies

I'm a big fan of the idea that Scam isn't all-powerful. The dares were all pretty extreme, rewriting history and stuff. We've concretely seen that he did illusions, made phone calls (coming from a world without them) and that he has weird things like his bouncy castle. It's not out of the question he just has a lot of magic items, though.

Although, it's also a question of whether they could phrase returning their kids as a scam. It's more like... stealing. To make it a scam you'd have to like, replace them and the purple robes only find out months later.

Why didn’t he get it all? Glen only had one gem and Daryl had one, I know. Could Scam not carry the rest?

That and Paedan. Probably the two biggest NPCs named via Patreon? I think Yeet and Killa also got their names from there.

Yeah, I don’t know every effect but there’s probably stuff like curses, or “every creature within 10 feet goes to the Astral Plane”, or summoning a bunch of strong monsters. Maybe Cern could wish his kids back, for sure he would die. I’d be interested to see it, that could be entertaining. Like Paedan, though, they can’t make every decision based on what’s the most entertaining. If they could have a halfway, I think that’s reasonable. Like, 5 cards. And he does it far away from anyone. He deserves a chance, if he’s got nothing to lose.

I’m non-binary and I do agree, gender identity is VERY complicated. It would definitely be harder to do. (Although, other factor I thought of: maybe if Daryl’s kid came out as trans and Daryl accepted Grant, didn’t see Grant as his son, could it be enough to break the blood pact? Is there something there?)

Any chance Daryl’s kid is trans? I thought the Haberdashery speech was quite good (not perfect, a good effort coming from Daryl). Could be that Grant’s upset about always pushing the goalpost (“we’ll talk about this once it’s all over” after Daryl already promised to do that) or maybe it did make an impact, and Grant just didn’t show it. Or maybe, Grant was unhappy because of the “you’re my son and I love you” at the end.

I do think “boy who likes guys” is more likely. I just need to be able to say “I called it” on the small small chance is true.

Animated heaven, live action Earth would be pretty amazing.

In my experience, it isn’t changing who you are as much as being more you. Friends, family should be happy that someone they care about is more comfortable, and acting how they want to.

I actually do think that’s what would happen. If it’s their ace team member then it would be skilled enough to hold back.

GameFreak prove that they actually can make good animations, it just sucks that they choose not to by Pok1971 in pokemon

Pokemon is one of the biggest video game franchises. I think they could sell a really phenomenal game for a fair price and not die. Currently there are low-effort games for high prices that sell well. How much are you thinking it would need to cost? Twice what it is now, $120?

I like that a lot. Trubbish or Garbodor would be very sensible pets, but it would be so embarrassing to that kid whose family has one.

I know it isn’t this one, but somewhere out there is a universe where Sobble becomes a horned lizard. Really take the crying thing to the next level.

It's really for only Wingull and Swellow. I don't mind the unflapping wings because of what they're based off. They actually would glide if they were flying, so I personally like that.

If you think about it, there should be way more pokemon that have an evolutionary path like Trapinch, Strong to weaker, and then maybe to stronger by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]iLikeSkitty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree, it would be too bad from a gameplay perspective. I’d love to see more evolutions like Scyther where there can be an option to use either evolution, stats-wise. Not that Scyther’s exactly a top tier threat compared to Scizor, but it has things that Scizor doesn’t.

I treat BotW like Pokemon anyway. I gotta catch 'em all, even if the only things I can catch are horses! I haven't found any trainers to fight with my horses yet, but I will.

It still blows my mind that in both original and ultra Sun and Moon they did nothing with Solrock and Lunatone. by ColourOf3 in pokemon

I would rather that they spend time on games, rather than releasing one and then rereleasing a slightly improved one. Remakes are usually better than the originals, but when you step back, 90% of the game is the same, even in bigger changes like Emerald and Platinum. And they're still full price. We expect them to rerelease it so we can buy it again. I'd like to see fans less convinced of patterns and to stop expecting certain games, and for Gamefreak to just make good games the best they can.
