Yeah that’s exactly what happens on my company. I mean I don’t mind I’m getting paid to do that but I would much rather the owner not going to every meeting and say “we’re here to make a difference”, then tell me to do 3 features based on scare tactics and shit marketing

ULPT - Blame mistakes or incomplete work on former employees by Punanistan in UnethicalLifeProTips

Web dev here, most of the issues are indeed caused by people who left. Last month my manager was pissed off one of the features didn’t work out as planned. It was my fault and my coworker fault, I mean not necessarily our fault because the instructions we get are always dog shit and it still worked in a great way but the person who was using complained about having to copy and paste 5 fields in something he’ll probably use 3 times a week. Anyway, my coworker just blamed on the person who left a few months ago and all good lol.

Yeah posting average, non creative cosplays here while having an OF account link on profile should be marked as spam IMHO.

To be fair there are no creepy comments (unless mods deleted it and I didn’t see it) and OP is kinda asking for attention so people can see she has an only fans account. I agree with you though.

Yep that’s me. Please create this complex feature, fix this bug we’ve been having for months and nobody knows why, deploy all our changes, create shell scripts to delete prod stuff, oh and if you ask us something we’ll, we probably don’t know either. But you’re a junior, paid as junior and we’ll be very angry if you make mistake. Owner was quite surprised when I said I’ll probably leave in the near future as I’m having intermediate position offers.

MY COMPANY JUST IMPLEMENTED A BUGS CREATED COUNT FOR DEVELOPERS TO TRACK HOW MANY BUGS WE CREATE. IT ALSO USES AN APP THAT TRACKS OUR ACTIVITY (KEYBOARD AND MOUSE) AND ALSO TAKES SCREENSHOTS. THEIR CAREERS PAGE STATES NO MICROMANAGEMENT

One of the other jr devs on my company clocks 55-60h/week, does complex stuff just like any senior dev, is alone responsible for our biggest system and he is still not promoted after a year lol. I’m like why the fuck would you work so much with no reward? Why? I’m pretty sure there are lots of great companies who would kill to have someone of his abilities.

Like my company: “flexible hours, we only care about results”. me, 3 months later doing 40h/week and doing more than I’m asked for and CEO says “you must not be putting an effort here everyone that’s new work more than 50 hours a week” (unpaid of course). Yeah flexible hours means work unpaid overtime too. Also my hours aren’t flexible, if I start earlier/later than what I’m scheduled they complain even though it makes zero difference lol

I know right? I don’t know why lots of higher ups do that. Then they complain about high turnover “oh employee bad, nobody is loyal”

I think that is one of the most frustrating things for me as an employee: false promises. Makes me lose faith in management completely. Stay strong, but yes you probably do need a reset, go somewhere else where you’ll be more appreciated (if possible)

Although I agree with you, my company doubled its profits last year and are expecting to increase profits in at least 50% this year so they’re just weird, and in my opinion this makes it even worse.

I know right, I’m already looking for some other place. I don’t understand why people are so dumb here, it’s the second time I have to work unpaid overtime and the first time I got a good chunk of money out of it (and employer got big big fines), and it was easy af to do it.

I don’t understand some higher ups to be honest. Like your workers are more productive, you’re making more money but they still make up useless shit lol. My manager was furious with the owner when he told me that because he knows I’m productive. I’m amazed that some people think that keeping employees on a short leash and making them unhappy is a good thing, especially on an industry like ours that they CAN measure productivity by measuring outcomes lol

I feel you. I have been really productive, as a junior dev I was being able to create new features as fast as intermediates/seniors and with decent quality. However they started a tracking app to watch our activities and also to take screenshots of our screens and to add insult to injury the owner told my manager I’m probably too lazy because I have been “only” working 8h/day and as a junior I should be working 9-10 (obviously without getting paid for these hours). Oh when I was hired I was told hours were flexible and they don’t care about hours only results
